I sense a running joke. Grace will drop by, Mouse will say Pfaff and she’ll slap him. Twinkie will be outside coughing up an unsavory mouse with a loud Pfaff Pfaff coughing sound. Kai will try tuning his guitar only to snap one of the strings that will make a Pfaff sound. Spill will bring over a new gnome sculpture, have it accidently drop and Pfaff into pieces. Ryan’s bug will get something stuck in one of its tires and when driving will go… pfaff, pfaff, pfaff, pfaff. Yes, it sounds like laugh.
As for getting money already earned and owed you, that’s hard to beat.
So, all this time that we’ve not seen Randie (I count about 2 weeks now) since the store closed, Mouse has been having a life-changing, take-charge experience…and Randie’s been drinking coffee and wondering where her next paycheck is coming from. Oy. I hope she catches up soon! Mouse will need her on board.
stick… Pfaff does sound like a coughing up something noise. EofO suggested an expletive… and for some reason, I like that. “Pfaff off” just maybe too many “f” sounds.
jude… I went back to the very beginning the other day… where Randie starts at The Artbox… Grace and Mouse were shocked … she was actually HELPING customers…. apparently a novelty at the time. Randie was an asset to The Artbox… for sure.
Mary… well said. She is juggling the coffee delivery, the janitorial job and some muralling over at Jacque’s… so less janitorial-more art supply would be welcome, for sure.
The name Pfaff has a distinguished history in sewing circles (pun not intended). The Pfaff sewing machine company was started out in 1862 in the German city of Kaiserslautern.
AmriloJim… Welcome! ooooo…. you have the knowledge and the pun-ny! German sewing machine company, eh?… it makes sense… they are well-made and still around today… thanks for the info and the pun!

She knows where her next pay check is coming from. From the coffee place. She just doesn’t know how she’s going to live on it.
Unless the extra hours let her manage in which case we will see a disappointed Mouse.
