Perspective
There’s a lot we have yet to discover about Jacques.
I had this toon, at first, with Spill in it… but it got crowded and she didn’t add to the conversation much… so I had to yank her. Sometimes I wish I had more space to fill… no, all the time I wish I had more space.
jacques is one of those people that is great to have around. They are full of inspiration and give good advice and great help when it is needed.
Or he watched a lot of Bob Ross.
Brevity is the soul of more than wit, it’s the savior of many a good idea that could have been lost in excess verbiage if not for the limitations of space.
Squid… Yes…. Jacques is such a fellow. We’ll see more of that to come, I’m sure.
Jack… I wonder if the French have their own version of good ol’ Bob.
Kona… Hmm… you’re correct. But I am longing to have a page… graphic novel style…
… which leads me to a bait…. I’m brewing up something that will give me room to play. Watch the blog (under the toon/comments section) in the next day or two for an exciting new… well, you’ll see.
3 questions regarding Jacques:
1) Is he single?
2) Is he straight?
3) Is he real?
(If so, Cyprus City, here I come! π
Nice that Randie’s trying to figure out her perspectives while still pencil sketching and not AFTER she’s already put down a couple coats of paint (first try…second try on top of it…third try on top of that…etc.).
Ah, must be so nice to draw digitally and then erase and replace characters (Jacques for Spill) at will. For me it’s full scale redraws.
Argh. He says a french-esque, “You pick up sings.” But now I’m thinking “singing” and expecting him to break into song, musical style.
brig… Working on something that affords more drawing space??? Sandoon City’s West-End festival is soon approaching, which you mentioned that you will be attending with a likely table and BANNER?! Oh wait, you said that you’re “brewing up” more real estate on which to “play.” Well, coffee will be involved one way or another.
JC… Ha, funny. Even if he’s real, Cypress City ain’t.
JC… well, yes, yes… and sort of. I based Jacques on this charming fellow…

stick… Randie put down a basecoat to change the wall from a glaring yellow to a softer background color and then penciled over that.
The idea/thing “brewing” isn’t related to WestEnd… but it is related to the comic.
He also took speech-coaching from Inspector Clouseau!
COULD’VE BEEN WORSE…COULD’VE BEEN MONTY PYTHON…
firedome
Life Of Brian reference?
Stick, I grew up in Carmel. I’m quite familiar with “Cypress City” and all the rest of Squid Row’s doppelganger cities. π
Brig, drat that your real “Jacques” isn’t local to “Cypress City”. Oh well.
Sometimes a “familiar” eye can spot what the professional eye glazed over. I always try to remember that and avoid the old-timer mistake of ignoring the musings of the newbies – sometimes they are just stating the obvious that the old-timers forgot!
