Patient Spring
There is something about each season that I enjoy. In the fall, the orange leaves, the pumpkins, and the increasing chill in the air make me smile. In winter, it’s the rainy days… tucked inside under a blanket drinking coffee or tea. In spring, the rebirth of the flowers and budding trees renews my spirit… the clear blue skies after a spring shower breathe new life into me. And summer… well, it’s “tourist season”.
An ode, a paen, to finding something positive in everything; to living in the moment, appreciating the journey. Nobody’s glass is all the way full all the time. It’s focusing on what you do have that makes life fulfilling. Thanks!
Oh yes. And if it’s tourist season, why can’t we shoot them?
You know, I get the vague notion that Brig doesn’t like tourists :).
Lovely strip today! Very nice!
Thank you, Meghan…
Um… and tourists are good for the economy… and they are FUN to draw… but lemmie say that there’s a magical time of year… in October, when all the tourists have gone and the weather is gorgeous… and we get the peninsula to ourselves again.
man, i am so jealous, you can write, you can draw, i have none of those talents, i wish i did =(
beautiful strip today, thank you.
Frank, are you really so sure that you don’t have those talents? Maybe you’re being a little hard on yourself…
I hope Brig doesn’t mind me saying this (and there’s a small preamble first): I don’t draw that well – certainly nowhere near Brig’s standard – but I found out that people don’t mind what my drawing’s like; they still enjoyed the strip.
Here’s where Brig comes in: She took time out of her busy day to take a quick look at my work, and then to email me to say she liked it! (Web comic artists seem to get along much better than other artists, in any case).
Try giving yourself a chance…
Brig, I think this strip proves that Randie’s character is only semi-biographical 🙂
*heh* As an artist, I’m a good writer. My 12-year old, who is an artist, can whip out something in five minutes that would take me a week to get almost as good.
I love the seasons as well. We lived in Hawaii for awhile back in the 80s, and as wonderful as it was, the weather never varied. We were on the windward side of Oahu, so we got a lot of rain, but not even that varied. You could set your watch by the rain – if anyone wore watches.
I’m blushin’ guys… um, thanks for the kind words.
And as I get older, I appreciate the seasons even more. I bet, Pete… having not had the seasons, you appreciate them even more! I lived in San Diego and it’s kinda like that, too. I’d rather have chilly and cold on Christmas than 80 degrees!
