Astragali,
Naught to worry. Comparing my work to McGonagall’s only means that I could aspire to be Queen Victoria’s Poet…someday. I am rebuilding my blog and you might want to check out these two gems: http://home.earthlink.net/~joeminotaur/id23.html
Best Holiday Wishes to you all! Thanks for the e-card, Brig!
Hum, if she was really flying today to London that would be via either Heathrow or Gatwick, both of which are having issues with travel today ~ Heathrow virtually shut for the weekend 😛 But hey, this a comic so Emily will get there 🙂
Blue-cat,
I spent almost a year in England(Huntingdon area). Did a little accidental off-roading in a pre-BMW Mini because of an icy road. No rollover, just needed to replace a side mirror, the radio antenna and straighten the steering wheel.
Travel in England was a challenge, but I really enjoyed myself there.
I hope Emily packed some warm clothes!
Joe… it’s the perfect time of year for “goose”… ahem… yes, lovely poetry. You’re brave to have even driven there… much less in winter… on the other side of the road!
Astragali… I’m sorry. *hug*
Blue-cat…. Yah… two weeks ago when I did this strip, there wasn’t the mess that there is now. Wiley Jack Frost. (Is it Jack Frost in England… or do they have a more British name for Guy Winter?) Maybe Guy Winter.
Yah… There’s also one in Cabo… down Mexico way… I don’t know if there’s an affiliation… but the logo there at Auckland looks very… ahem…. Squid Row Comic-ish. Sheesh!
I, too, love the seafoodings! I live in a good place for that! This area just had a record catch on squid (calamari)… how fitting! I love the sushi, as well… mmmm… saki & unagi!
Yah, you’d like the First Fridays… sitting around gabbing, munching and talking whatevers.

Joe: *applause* I loved those poems!
Brig: I daren’t comment on the strip, beyond saying that I know exactly how Ryan feels.

BBC News on the chaos: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12034317
UK is NOT used to lots of snow so we are VERY poor at managing it.

Completely off-topic, I know, but while searching Twitter, I found this:
Squid Row Gastro Bar, Auckland, NZ
Man, I love seafood – I wanna go! (though I’d have more chance of getting to a First Friday in Salinas…)
