If you remember, Emily is writing a horror novel which takes place in London at the time of Jack the Ripper. Merry Christmas, Em.

I like how ipod guy is totally oblivious to the fact that a women just frenzy-unwrapped a present next to him.
Brig, it’s a good thing you gave the notes under the comic, because I thought Ryan was accusing her of being a homicidal maniac… though that smile of hers would definitely qualify *shudder*
I think the guy with the ipod either just turned up the volume or skipped to the next song.
I’m going to rip and burn a few albums for my next trip.
*hehe* I like how jammed up his feet are. Emily is definitely NOT in the first class section!
I want that book!
Joe, be careful. I believe that, on a whim, they can now search your music player and laptop (delete as appropriate) for music. Gotta love those RIAA people.
Hee hee… I’m pleased that ya’ll noticed the “ipod person.” I pulled from my many experiences in plane travel for this one. The window seat, for those who wish to be left alone, is the coveted seat on a plane… you squish up your legs and look at the window and only turn your head if you want to tell the stewardess your drink preference. Otherwise, you plug in, sleep, or ignore everyone…. unless (God forbid) you have to use the tiny restroom.
This is not me. Although I like to watch the earth below, I prefer the aisle because, I don’t want to disturb anyone should I need to use the loo. I don’t mind the occasional bump… and don’t mind a conversation or two.
Now, Dani… although the title of the book is fictional, I based it on some books on a list I found by googling “books on criminal minds” or something like that. You’d be surprised at WHAT is out there. Scary…
Astragali,
The thing is, how do they prove that you didn’t buy these songs. Either as a CD or online download. Everything can be loaded onto my phone’s 8GB card or a memory card that can be removed from my netbook. Everything will be backed up to an external hard drive that will stay here. Both my phone and netbook ave built in tuners that can receive FM radio broadcasts. The netbook can also receive digital TV signals. I also have a CD/DVD drive that I can use. I won’t be board.
Joe: This is the thing – how can you prove it, short of having a mess of receipts in your carry-on? I had a quick Google (as I do) to try to get clarification on the whole thing, and the situation became even more muddy: some people have had their laptops at least searched, if not seized, others didn’t. When I went to Blighty in 2007, mine wasn’t searched at either end, but then I took off anything which might get me into trouble.
