Not Forgotten
I was sleeping when I got a phone call from a friend that said turn on the tv. From that moment to right before I went to bed, I was glued to the news… like many peoples were.
I imagined Randie eating Pop’n Tarts in her rented place near UC Slug and getting the news… on Sept 11, 2001. Or her going to class and having her stunned classmates fill her in.
I chose the fire truck and flag for a couple of reasons. One… I wanted to recount the bravery of the firemen who ran into the towers… trying to save those stuck inside… they were self-less and heroic. Second… my brother is a firefighter…. and I know he would have done exactly what those NYFD firefighters did. Three… there’s no politics involved. My thoughts go out to all those who were effected by the tragedy.
What she said.
9-11 Never forget.
I’ve worked with people who have gone to Iraq and Afganistan to keep this from ever happening again. To them and the First Responders of 9-11, we will remember, always.
Good one today Brig…
Thanks, Audra… my heart goes out….
Beautiful job.
Great Great Tribute. So true.
Way to honor the Cypress men and women. Politics don’t mean a thing when lives are on the line. Democrats or Republicans, you are both equally important when your life is in danger, please remember that.
Very moving tribute.
Nicely done, Brig.
Thank you, all…
Little bro… It’s honoring all the firefighters, first-responders… and those who lost their lives…. military personnel… but especially those who ran in to try to get those who were in out.
