Not All That
Ryan has pretty much told Randie the same thing Randie’s floating cherub head was trying to tell her earlier… count your blessings. Somehow when you hear your best friend say it, it holds more truth.

That’s because listening to your own conscience say it you write it off as deluding yourself. Hearing your best friend say it is like independent confirmation, so we can accept it easier.
Especially if your best friend brings comfort food…
Randie’s blue mood seems to be lightening, but if she keeps at that ice cream she may soon take on a mint-chip green hue.
Ryan’s a funny guy. He comments on her awful diet, but doesn’t do it any favors with his frozen tub o’ calories. Yeh, at least she’s healthy…for now.
Stick, a bunch of broccoli, though a lot healthier, just doesn’t deliver the same sentiment.
jude… Do you speak of hot buttered and salted broccoli, or broccoli slathered in either steaming nacho cheese or hollandaise sauce?
Come to think of it… there’s gotta be someone out there who fries up broccoli (tempura?). Those state fair food folks can fry anything.
Great…now I’ve got hot broccoli as comfort food on the mind.
Ryan is being a good friend, his sentiment is helpful, and maybe a bike ride will follow the next day or two.
Mmm, hot broccoli and cheese soup with cruched up crackers mixed in…okay gotta stop.
I like the way you drew Randie in a lighter shade of blue when Ryan showed up. Just seing her BFF made her feel better!
