Every year Randie feels the let-down… the 26th is round one… and then there’s the day after New Years… that’s when the real post holiday bummed-out-ness sets in. What is there in January to festive-ize?
Well, for me there’s my granddaughter’s first birthday! I consider that something to festive-ize! I can hardly believe that she’s nearly a year old already.
January 6 (Twelfth Night) is the start of the Mardi Gras season.
And Chinese New Year’s just a month away! With oranges and red envelopes of Lucky Money and fireworks!
And we still get a real Federal Holiday on Martin Luther King Day in January
‘Course Valentine’s day in Feb.
My wife’s birthday is on the 14th, so that helps keep our spirits up. 🙂

I agree. Skip the deadly milk chocolate, dispose of the holiday greeting card industry, and instead send thanks and love notes all year long, while we have our loved ones and friends around to say to to in person.
The most obnoxious part of the entire first month and a half of the year is having to listen to all the crap in advertising about Valentine’s Day
