34 years ago in Western Washington, I got a ‘kitty’ out of one of those cages at the ‘Animal Shelter’ (much different then ours here) and the sight of Leo in my arms and draped over my shoulder had the staff disappear out the door. Turned out I could have him for $2 if I locked him in a car away from them. Some of the staff were still in the hospital from getting him in that cage 3 weeks earlier. Poor little kitty (all skin and bones long hair, he was 12 lbs then and about 3′ long, he ate off the kitchen counter! Err. while his hind paws were still on the ground). Nice Kitty Kitty, nice Kitty, and he really was, after all he didn’t snack on the neighbors dogs but he’d put your legs to sleep sitting on your lap.
Seems like Twink’s “Been there, Did that” and did NOT get the T-Shirt.
(Unless he clawed his way out of it! I’ve wondered if it’s the scent of the cleaners they use that cause the extreme reaction. All kidding aside Shelter workes deserve all they credit and applause they can get for the type of work they do, and the “clientle” they care for.)
@Chase
Yeah, noting your icon…. tell me when you’ve got kittens and no father around if you feel the same way! (snicker) Sorry, I couldn’t let that one past me…purrfect set up.
It is unexpected and wonderful that the only person who can make Twinkie feel safe is the one so many others loathe. We all have a value in this world, people! Don’t discount what you don’t understand.
Squiddies… wow… you might just be feeling the Twinkie love, eh?
Well, the Twink will be fed, safe and dry. Winter is no time to be out in a forest… and so this is a step up… despite being afraid of staff and cages and stuff.
It seemed to work out well for you, Scott.
Fun Mike… YES, I make sure I NEVER get to that point.
Out of the woods and into the cages.

In panel two, Twinkie has the same look I have when I find out I’m out of coffee.
And so it finally comes out… Twinkie DOES have an owner, and it’s Grace.
I hope they reunite. This whole thing could end up being a blessing for both of them. (Not that either would ever admit it.)
So, Twink, that whole “adventure” thing…how’s that working out for you?
Awww. I keep finding Twinkie more and more adorable as this arc keeps going.
