Nickname
Ryan has a lot of ribbin’ ahead of him. And yes, Goodfellow is English. Ryan… also has roots in England and Celtic culture. It means King. I kinda like that.

Ryan, the name, means King? His hair does look a bit like a crown, a well-worn one.
With Puck meaning a mischievous woodland faun-type, half man / half goat creature, you’d think the nickname would be more fitting for Clive. He’s a pot calling the kettle black.
Lol, I can see him calling Ryan by that name from now on… “Hey there old puck”.
Stick… You know Ryan’s hair DOES look crownish. A happy unplanned incident. And yes… you would definitely think Puck would better suite Clive… insights into his personality perhaps… or irony or something like that.
Pash… I don’t believe it’s would be terribly insulting to be called Puck… a Shakespeare-ian merry-maker and trickster of the forest… the half goat thing might be a bit displeasing… but Puck doesn’t conjure up smiley visuals for me…. maybe it’s the “uck” part.
Anyone else have this problem? …or do you think of Hockey?
brig,
Uck? Not such a great nickname. Same can be said for duck, guck, muck, suck and yuck.
Ya, Rye’s hair does appear crownish, well at least the hair on your version of Ryan.
My version of Ryan has hair that looks more like a palm tree.
Uh…
Wait. Did I say, my version? I suppose I did.
Well, with you looking for some Squid-fan tribute-art submissions….
And, in mentioning the upcoming release of your book allowing for….
“elaborate, highly-detailed and specific drawings,” which you “may just have to charge ridiculously exorbitant prices” and or accept elaborate, highly-detailed and specific drawings in exchange as barter, er, trade…. (your words first, my words second)
And, that your 100th Sketch Book Party is just ahead of Easter and my return to Cyprus City….
And that I had already made a really basic, er, very basic, sketch of a picture on a Mickey D napkin (my common sketch pads of convenience)….
I decided to put all those happenstances together, and whadayaknow?
I’ve got stick-figure cartoon art featuring Squid Row familiars.
And, I’ve also got a matching napkin sketch to go with it.
Hope you like ’em.
See you at your party.
