RN… nay… it is the continuation of her opening shift. Perhaps Mary went on break or lunch now that there’s manager coverage. Mel sure wouldn’t last for another shift. You thought she looked bad at the beginning of her shift!!!
Pete… true… I’m sure that Mary absolutely LOVED her time spent with Mel.
Yat… they do, don’t they. I imagine that when employee review time comes around, Mary won’t be giving out any gold stars.
I always found there’s one supervisor in any business that has her pets, and the rest of the store can’t stomach the lot of them. If they’re the good or the bad employees is a toss up.
Trev… yah… that’s often how it works out. What’s weird is, I had a dream last night about my former store manager at the art store I used to work at in Santa Cruz. Out of the blue. She was really a good manager… and a good friend.
Awesome! Odd as that is, it’s always been an auspicious sign in my life when I think about old friends (and some of my managers were too). Maybe it just cheers me up enough to make a day seem better?
When I had to close the art store, I was especially cranky… there’s lots to do at night to close. At least in the morning… you’re fresh, you’re ready to go having had coffee…
Mel’s not starting *another* shift right now, is she?
After what probably happened, I can’t see why Mel would ever NEED to be reminded not to do a morning shift.
😀
Grace’s last words sound ominous. I hope Mel isn’t getting the sack.

Opening sucks, but closing is the WORST!
