Mort The Turkey
Ever look back at a conversation or event… and at the time, you didn’t get something that was said? or even what was going on? You look back later and boom! you get what was REALLY being said!

What was really being said there?
*hangs head in shame*
I don’t get it!
Mort, very clever 🙂
I had something just like that. I watched “The Bet” episode of Seinfeld when I was about 9 and it went right over my head.
I thought her name was Dee.
Dee L. Ishus.
And yes, I’ve had it happen more than once to me as well.
Shadowydreamer – French for death is mort. Latin root. As in our words mortuary, postmortem, and so forth.
Here come the frenchman : mort = dead in French ! Poor turkey …
Is it what your mom meant, brig ? Or is it “Mort”, like “More”, have some more ? lol
ninjayanyan – I think it’s he dad who’s making the French pun. Mom is just hoping the question will go away …
No shame… but I guess today was an inadvertent lesson in French… It’s funny because I have a mid-term in mon cours de francais aujourd’hui (big test today)… I didn’t plan the “mort” toon on this particular day for that reason… it just happened by accident.
Thanks for the further explanations Crow et ninjayanyan. (Dee lish… ha ha!) Crow, you funny, bird! (bird humor!) Squackkk!
But yes, the unseen male person made the funny. I will not divulge who it is… well not now, anyway.
Ahh.. The beret on the turkey should have tipped me off. A sad moment for this Canadian. 🙂
Thanks for the enlightenment! 🙂
Well, Crow, now you mention it, I admit I missed the arm … Sorry, brig, I didn’t see your dad. :-p
J’espère que ton partiel s’est bien passé (I hope your exam went well)
We have chickens, and the ones not named by our kids (They went with pokemon) are named things like Dumpling, Golden, Crispy, Cordon Blue, Adobo, etc…
In a nod to what they are used for in Peru, our guinea pigs also have such names. All starting with R. There’s Rhubarb, Raspberry, Ramen, Radish, Raffaello…
Ha ha! Dumpling… etc…. I guess it’s one way to sorta not get attached. It keeps the whole “I am going to eat you” thing right up front!
Turkeys with berets? Reminds me of a Peter Gabriel video!
I don’t recall “The Bet” episode…. I guess I was more of a “Friends” watcher.
