Mom Day
Happy Moms Day to my excellent mother and all you moms out there! Mommyhood… the toughest job you’ll ever love (so I am told)… It seems like ONE day of appreciation is hardly enough.
Randie’s mom, I’m certain, had to put up with a lot of Randie wackidoodle-ness! She’s a patient woman for sure! (Or maybe she learned patience…)
Moms… ya gotta luv ’em.
Dads often take a back seat to someone’s mom. Even so, Mom IS Mom and she is often first in the hearts of her children. It’s only when they do something wrong that she turns to her husband to say, “Your Son/Daughter…”
Brig,
I don’t know what happened to your Father, but I know that he is no longer with you. Please remember him when Father’s Day comes around next month.
Mom’s, without them where would we be?
Joe… Yes, I will be sure to remember “Pops” next month. (He passed away from brain cancer in 2006). I’ll play “Love At The Greek” by Neil Diamond… and maybe drink some Maxwell House (not)…
But today, I remember Mah. Sniff. I loves ya, Mah… where would I be without ya?
Brig, sorry, but I’m a little confused: Is that Young Randie in the “read/cooked/loved” pages? The hair is – excuse me – kinda masculine-looking, hence my confusion!
Mother is the name for God in the lips and hearts of little children.
– William Makepeace Thackeray
I’ve met your mom, Brig, and even though it was a brief visit, I could tell she’s super! I see my 87-yo mom every week, help her with her garden and argue politics and philosophy, and love every minute with her. My condolences about your dad’s untimely passing, but thank heaven for our moms, huh? Nice tribute there!
Astragali: Randie was a tomboy when she was a little girl. (Notice that we NEVER see Randie in a skirt or dress…). As it was for me, so it was for Randie. Give me a bunch of Star Wars figures over a Barbie any day!
Chug: Nicely quoted.
Kona: Yes, my mom is super! And thank you for your mentioning that! I can honestly say the same about yer Mah! (Smiles!) It is a blessing that you and your mom get along so swimmingly!
And thank you for your condolences on Pops. We miss him. It’s wonderful that this has come up now as Mom is visiting Arlington as I write… and the flowers I sent her for Muddah’s Day are being shared with Dad. (Me smiling).
