That’s because he finally has a boss who will let him do what he’s best at – the new boss actually cares about success, not just milking it for all it’s worth then running for the hills like his last boss did. 😀
Perhaps with Mouse’s business plan, the new store will perform better than the previous one. A well-conceived business plan can make or break a store, especially when you consider that 90% of start-ups close within a few years of opening.
I’m looking at those first two panels and thinking of the old adage that too many cooks spoil the broth.
Oh sure the aunts are impressed and quiet now, they’re out of their element. But, just you wait. That store will open up and the Indian tribe will be all chiefs and no braves. Each will want to express herself and use her ownership stake to influence the look and feel of the “broth.” And should things go south, those aunts may quickly go into hiding becoming errant silent partners of the fund syphoning variety.
Maybe I’m just being cynical, but Mouse may soon find himself a partner with four Carol stand-ins. Stand-ins that have direct family ties.
Yat… so I was watching Downton Abbey last night… it was the finale… and everything was going all happy and just in the last few minutes… when everything was pretty well tied up and we were gonna be all smiley… BANG… and total unhappiness and cause for viewer uprising…
… it can happen.
stick… too many owners… not enough pee-ons… yah… we’ll see how that all plays out. It may very well work out okay… it’s all about balance. Maybe an aunt or two are do-less-ers.
Squid… Yah… We got all the seasons on Netflix… got completely hooked… and now we’re all caught up… and last night, I wanted to throw things at the tv. Sigh. How ’bout you? You watch?
No. I gotta say, All of the media hype really turned me off. And besides, I’m not really into watching stuffy, rich, British people prancing arround their mansions and beating on their servants. Growing up, my folks watched ( and still do watch) t.v. shows on pbs like this. We childeren were
forced to watch as well. I think that this is why I don’t care too much for British television.( B.B.C. )
Although, I was working at the computer last night and did catch the last episode. ( the computer is next to the t.v.)
So yeah although I did catch the final episode, I’m not a watcher. Sorry! (:
squid… I can understand what you mean about media hype… It’s the only reason I waited so long to get onboard with Harry Potter. But I was very happy when I came around.
But with Downton… I was not sure what to expect, but found that the currents that run through the show are more like the Posh folks trying to find relevancy in the modern age… it’s fascinating… but not JUST about the posh… it’s about class struggle… and dealing with a changing world… and it reminds me very much of Dickens at times. It’s a soap opera for sure. But it’s a wild ride. And the art direction, casting, and historical record is quite good!

WTG Mouse! Maybe the rest of the family will be so intimidated, they’ll back off and leave him alone.

Grey…. You said it very well.
Yat… the aunts will get to see Mouse’s real potential… and his gifts will shine… unless something goes horribly wrong.
DCS… This is why we saw Mouse doing some serious research and putting together a very cohesive and spiffy business plan… in a binder.
Brig: …unless something goes horribly wrong.
Well, you’ll make sure that doesn’t happen, won’t you? 😉
