If I were Mouse, while I’m in the comic store, I’d pick up the entire run of ‘Mazing Man for Randie. We carried the comic when it first came out in the mid-80s and though it only ran for one year (and a few specials afterwards), it was probably the quirkiest, sweetest, “super-hero” comic DC or anyone else ever put out. You’d love it Brig, and so would Randie. And it’s a perfect gift from Mouse.
I agree with you Pete, ‘Mazing Man is probably something that Randie would want.
Mouse could also get her a set of acrylic paints, or at least some ‘thalo blue. Or a set of Prismacolor pencils. Meybe a set of pastels?
Considering Mouse’s limited funds, He might offer Randie a gift card from the store and allow her to pick her own gifts. That might seem too inpersonal to Mouse, though. So, I would suggest a set of fine camel hair brushes. That, or a case of jellies.
Mega Geek-Pete… Midge shoulda known… and it’s funny how it never crossed my path (but it has now!) Thanks for the link.
Squidman…. You’d think that Mouse could find something at the store there. Sometimes the easiest choices are the hardest.
Joe…. Mouse really isn’t hard up for money. He gets a regular paycheck, works the most hours there at the shop and lives in his mother’s basement. Aside from gaming and comics and snacks, his paycheck is banked.
AND YAH…. jelly would have been a no-brainer, Mouse! Gah!
Actually I know a number of fangirls who would happily recommend X-Men (especially if Grant Morrison’s name is on it…girls seem to love the hell out of him).
Came down to Monterey on a grace visit feeling not so well. Being a guy, thought I’d shake it off. Things got worse, symptoms and colors started becoming as they should never be. A doc visit spiralled into a rushed emergency room check-in which moved onto about a week-long hospital stay with oh so many tests…no medications (drugs) apply for recovery however. Then came the hosp discharge and a weak week of miserable recovery, followed by more yet less so far this week.
OK, back on topics…
That Ex-Men title made me laugh as I imagined what the comic could possibly be about. I mean, the current batch of Dancing with the Stars contestants features Chaz Bono, former daughter and now son of Cher. She’s and ex-woman, so the comic would be the opposite.
Joe…Good idea with a jelly, only a case seems a bit grandiose. Mouse ought to know Randall well enough to know she’d dig it. As she works at an art store with a likely employee discount, art supplies don’t seem like such a great idea, but a nice homemade artsy birthday card could go far. Or if not that, a cupcake with a candle should fit the bill.
Well, Welcome back to the comments section, Stick… glad you are feeling better.
EX-MEN… yah… might could be a band of super transgender types… saving the world with… um… lipstick? Not sure. In anycase… If you have that, then Chaz or, super Chaz could be the “man sidekick” -think Batgirl on the 60’s Batman TV show.
Dada… I like Midge, too. She’s gonna be around for awhile me thinks.
