Midge Help
This is a Murphy’s Law cartoon. Of course, if Mouse had stuck around, the place would’ve been dead for the remainder of the afternoon.

Oh god…I know this exact feeling. On top of that, my boss is going to be on vacation next week and I just KNOW I’ll be dealing with this kind of situation all week long…
Does not seem like it’d be much of a problem for Midge. She normally comes across as direct, no-nonsense and confident. Plus, she’s got lots of retail experience running the comic shop. She just has to take her in-charge role back from the customers and have the people line up to check out. She should also have someone else there give advice to the customer on getting india ink out of a carpet…the customers are supposed to be knowledgeable artists, right? Plus no sense in exposing your store to blame for having someone’s carpet ink stain mushroom into a carpet ink pool. For the lady whose kid threw up on the crayons, if they’re damaged, she buys them, otherwise just wait to clean up the glop when there aren’t folks around needing help, or, better yet, have Mouse do it when he comes back. Simple.
Happy Father’s Day.
That should be a LAW. Never ever leave the newbie alone. Customers will eat her! D=
I remember my first night cashing where there would be a mere 15 minutes where I would be the ONLY one there. Just fifteen minutes. Everything that could have gone wrong, did. In fifteen minutes! O-O
It’s like they can smell out the most inopportune moment possible.
I can tell you’ve worked in retail.
i wish i could see the strip. i’ve tried everything, but all of a sudden my computer won’t display it.
dome… Mines doing the same thing and it has just got back to running shape. (What I thought was a virus protection was only a spyware protection and my laptop got wiped out by a nasty virus, luckily I had everything backed up on an external drive, unluckily the files could not be accessed for the longest time…it’s been weeks getting it back into shape) Anyhow…
Yup, Murphy’s Law seems to be applying to the comics having disappeared.
Okay, I don’t know what’s going on, but I cant see the comic at all; not even the archives. All I get is the comments. Anyone else having this problem or is it only me? Help please?
Not just you, Pasha, getting that here as well. Cleared the cache and rebooted, nada. Thought it strange that it started happening same day Firefox got an update, so I tried in MicroSloppy Internet Exploder – same result.
No comic, no nav buttons, just the plain-text prev/next links and the comments section for the central column. Page headers and the left/right columns are okay tho.
Brig, didja tweak the template, or something?
I’m on Google Chrome, so it’s got to be something with the site itself then. Brig! Help us out here! I need my squid fix!
I love how your strips depict these little accurate moments of retail.
