That’s getting off cheap! My nostalgia tends toward vintage Ferarri’s and Lamborghini’s . But yes, who doesn’t like Sparky Brown and the work of the great Charles Schlitz. Sparky was the artit’s nickname, what? I thought at first that was what Patty always called Charlie, then I remembered that she called him Chuck and Marcie called him Charles.
Yeah, “Sparky” was Charles Schultz’s nickname. His uncle started calling him that when Charles was about five years old.
We started the exhaustive collection of his works, but only got about nine books in before the job situation came up. 🙁 Well, at some point the money will be coming in again and we can finish it off.
Nostalgia’s such big business they’re starting to predict this generation will have a wave of nostalgia for what is currently nostalgic because there’s so much throw-back. Weird. And I like the on-site snow! Any snow I don’t have to shovel is fine with me!
UB… I’ve always liked how “the girls” referred to Charlie Brown. “Ol’ Chuck”…
Pete… I started and then I lost track as to which books I have when we moved… so I paused. The 60’s books are what I’m mostly interested in. I have the 70’s weekly strips in a book called “The Big Book of Peanuts” … and that’s a good book.
RN… impressive… a real fan, non?
Trev… today’s society is very info-oriented…. and into the ownership of things. If childhood memories are something to be owned, then having the things and toys you had as a kid makes sense, yah?
I like the nostalgia of times that I warn’t around. The 1920’s and 30’s, the turn of the century… I love looking at photos from that time period from 1900-1940’s. Movies, art, etc. from that period is fascinating.

So far I’ve got every volume.

Also…from appearances, those are the reprinted Sunday strips, a separate issue…I’ve got them, too.
RN… you just might be a super fan.
