Yes, Memorial Day is about remembrances, but not without conflicts.
Some favor given wars, others oppose them.
Some cheer soldiers who soldiered on, others are concerned about their own lives.
Some embrace memorial wakes, while others desire fun barbeque holiday parties.
Remembering can be painful, not fun-filled, and some may already be otherwise depressed.
Remembering the war dead is a high priority for some, a non one for others.
Appreciation depends on your level of connection to those being memorialized.

Why’d Rudy give up his flag?
And, speaking of holiday weekend events…any truth to the following?
My grandfather called it “Decoration Day”. He felt it was a day to remember all deceased loved ones, including military. Which brings me to my favorite blues song ever:
Thank-you Brig,
Never forget the fallen. Remember those who serve.

Thank you, Joe. And I won’t forget to raise a glass to those in uniform… all.
Stick: Yes, there is a great deal of truth to that toon. It’s good of Mr. Wiley to bring light to our collective partying problem.
Kona: nobody leaves here wit’out singin’ da blues…
We wouldn’t be a nation without the fallen.
