Yup, yup, yup! New people’s gotta get broke in just like new shoes. 😀 Since the customers kind of walk all over you like you were a pair of shoes anyway.
Oh… in other news Brig, the shirts came in and they look awesome! I will be getting yours out to you as soon as I get over the flu.
“No, Melvin, it’s ‘beat the crap outta people who annoy me’ day. Congrats! You get the door prize! Now, hold still, this will only hurt for a moment …”
Having owned a comic book store, I can guarantee this comic will be posted on the wall of every comic book store that sees it. This is 100% true!
We used to pick up the new comics on Wednesday evening, when they arrived at the distributor. Since both our comic distributors were located in Phoenix, I drove the truck down to pick them up, saving a day’s shipment time and cost. I’d get back to the store in the evening and the gaming section in the back would be closed off to our customers while we spread out the books to fill the in-store subscriptions. After closing, we’d rack the the remainder of the comics.
We had over 500 subscribers – people who wanted specific titles and paid for them as they came in. That guaranteed them that book, plus a 10% discount on all merchandise, PLUS you got your new comics on Wednesday night. Everyone else had to wait until opening on Thursday.
So we had two lines. The subscribers on New Comic Wednesday Night, and then the non-subscribers on New Comic Thursday.
Pash… Yah… Zack’ll get the hang of it.
And YAH! T-shirt! coming my way! AND FEEL BETTER!
Grey… HA ha! The two of them could totally beat the snot outta the little snot! But… they won’t ’cause they only make like, minimum wage.
Pete… Feel free to share, Pete! I will post on Facebook.
Wow… lots of work there! But like anything you LOVE to do… it’s not work… it’s not a job… it’s your passion… so you do it with love…. unless Melvin comes in and then you beat the snot out of him.

They were fun times!
The same principle applies to tickets to concerts or sporting events. You gotta be there when the ticket window opens.
