What’s the thing with Ryan? He seems surrounded by women who are interested in him for various reasons and at various levels. Guess some guys are just like that; usually without trying to be. (Which is probably why they ARE like that.)
I’ve learned to stay away from women who sound like they’re speaking in calligraphy. They are usually triple shots of trouble. But, like Ryan, I have a bad habit of letting my eyes wander on them.
Actually MTM was a hottie in her day. See the old “Dick Van Dyke Show”, or her old Movies like “X-15”, and “Change of Habit” (opposite Elvis, as a Nun!) The old story was that Presley “romanced” all his Leading Ladies, but one. Mary, once in an interview, admitted that “if that’s true, I know who she is.”
Notice that she DIDN’T say that it WAS her, just that she knew who it was.
@LeoAutodidact: The “Mrs. Robinson are you trying to seduce me?” scene was exactly what came to mind for me too when I saw this page. Though I don’t think Brig’s old enough to remember “The Graduate”.
Moore’s first regular television role was as a mysterious and glamorous telephone receptionist on Richard Diamond, Private Detective. To add to the mystique, her voice is heard, but only her shapely legs appear on camera.
Yes, I did have a little of Mrs. Robinson in the back of my mind when writing this … But not in a MOM seduction way… I was not aware of Mary T. Moore’s role in the private detective show until Judy brought it up when SHE saw the toon. Life is funny. And I have always thought MTM to be classy. … Certainly not one to kiss and tell … Even where Elvis was concerned…
And aparently, she knows how to make “Sex on the Beach”!
She must be pretty talented, to be able to speak in script…

Well, she’ll be good for business.
Leo… AhEM… I’m sure she knows what’s in it.
Rich… I won’t go into where her talents lie.
Pete…. Ryan’s a good looking and all around good guy…. attractive qualities, wouldn’t you say?
Chug… NO DOUBT… the story continues.
Sorry, my first thought was “Mrs. Robinson, are you trying to seduce me?”
But you’d never resorst to such an OBVIOUS cultural cliche, right?
Matilda is fifteen feet tall and has nice legs!
Watch, it will turn out to be his Mom or something.

Okahy LA, here’s an obscure pop cult reference – she probably looks like a young Mary Tyler Moore.

Of such stories are legends made!

Maybe she took a “Classic Film” course?
Maybe she’s a Dustin Hoffman fan? Or Simon and Garfunkle? (They did the Soundtrack Songs.)
Anyway, if yer gonna steal, ya steal from the best, right?
(It’s called ‘paying tribute’ or an ‘homage’ when artists do it to each other.)

Oh… And Lady Jenn… My inspiration for Matilda shouldn’t surprise you… But you may not have run away from HER!
Oh I never run…… I just get ready to!
