Marine Layer
So Marina Beach, “Marine Layer” is based on a part of the Central Coast here near Fort Ord, called Marina. It does get a lot of fog… as it is closer to the middle of the Monterey Bay (going north towards Moss Landing). It is not unusual to see the fog running through Marina…. which is always somewhat creepy.
It’s like the Oregon Coast.
Yah… I imagine so. Marine Layer would suit you just fine!
This strip isn’t going to win over many hearts at either the Marina tourist advisory board or business council.
Ooo, fast moving flows of creepy fog…
Anyone see either version of The Fog? The original was far better, but in either case mysterious waves of thick fog quickly flow into a coastal town, like Marina, and from it appear many pirate ghosts that proceed to slash up all comers in search of revenge. Oh yeah, the blood flows.
Come to think of it, this association probably won’t impress many folk on the Marina tourist board either.
Ooo, getting chills. You can’t kill the pirate ghosts (they’re ghosts) but they can kill you…badly.
Oh, wait, there’s a buncha fog here outside the P.G. Starbucks–Pacific Grove being the fog magnet in the real version of the Cypress City world.
I dunno, stick… San Fran gets a lot of dense fog and the people are pretty white…. and they don’t have a problem with this fact. Marina Beachers are probably pretty okay with the facts… I guess we’ll see in the editorial page.
You kidding? Mom and I lived in S.F. for a few years when I was younger, she loved the city. And I was amazed how people there turned what you might think to be a turn-off (the fog) into a freakin *tourist attraction*.
Seriously. You ever looked at some of their promo material? The fog is *part* of it! And they make it look good …
