Light Catcher
I can relate…. while working I see something that inspires me… and I can’t wait to get home and throw myself at said inspiration. By the time I get home, have dinner and do dishes… the inspiration has fled or I fall asleep on the couch.
For Randie, I hope the tide is out.
I played a bit more with the ol’Photoshop in this Sunday… just a little. I’m trying to break out of my color rut. Coloring for newspaper comics is kinda boring… the flat-ish colors that are sort of un-inspiring. I wanna bust them out on Sundays…. because I can.
I like the colors. They look real nice.
The color variations and spotty details look really good. Yup, definitely something that a newspaper can’t do justice.
There’s something to be said for taking notes. They can be sketches in sketchbooks or on convenient napkins, they can be snapshots by phone or digi camera, they can be memos on mini recorders, phone apps or yet more available napkins. Regardless, they capture fleeting inspirations and preserve them for later use.
Funny comic, however. Wonder what that picture looks like.
from the “panel’ sequence, it looks like the tide is going out. This will be better for Randie than it already being out, since it gives her more time.
Squid… thank you.
stick…. thanks you, also, as well. Yes… this is why I carry a sketchbook wherever I go… a receptacle of ideas, notions, and thought patterns.
Beetle… Yes, sleep… sleep… now you’ll sleep!
I cannot tell you how many time I have fallen asleep with comics in my hands. So true.
