BeetlesBane, yeah…I think it was from the Martian Chronicles. I lost a few books over the years in the various moves and I think that’s one that I desperately need to replace! Sorry I didn’t reply yesterday…got distracted by the rare occurrence of fall sunshine in Oregon. 🙂
Oops, forgot to comment about yesterday’s comic too..lol.
Go Twinkie! I’ve seen people’s dog get that reaction from a cat…never happened inside my home, but I do have two outdoor boys that won’t take nothing from nobody…and we have a neighbor with a great dane…size of a pony!
Heather,
It’s been over 40 years since I read the volume, but thinking about it, the story title may have been something like “Usher 2”. Also, I think that, like The Illustrated Man which brig mentioned, he a\included a frame story loosly tying the pieces together; in this case, the tie was “the development of a Martian, as distinct from Terran, culture”.
Does Grace have spiked shoulderpads and yell ‘Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what a rush!’?
Also, somewhat late on this, but it’s rather impressive that ye cat defeated the dachshund. They were bred to hunt badgers you know. I guess the blood of it’s ancestors was weak with that dog.
Heather… YOu had sunshine in Oregon? I don’t blame you for wanting to take advantage!
Beetles… I really did enjoy reading “The Illustrated Man.”
Legacy… Yes, The Legion of Doom… The Saturday morning Super Friends version had no Skulled type bad guys… they had Manta Ray, The Scare Crow and Lex Luther… um… I’m drawing a blank… but it all seemed so tame… so “you call this EVIL!??” No doom will happen in this legion.
