Does this mean, that we can get our daily doseage of Squid Row in Zine-form soon?
Sent to us directly?
Where can I order it?
Do you plan to send them US only?
Or can we europeans get it as well?
Who do I have to bribe to get it anyway?
Tride… Yes, oh, yes…. there will be a zine! You will be able to get Squid and non-Squid content in the Art-o-rama zine, which will see it’s first issue this month… for more info go here… http://squidrowcomics.com/?p=3740

Jack… then you will like what’s coming!
Pash… I must admit, Pash, it’s not as easy as it looks. Filling 12 pages is ambitious…
I was a fan of Mad magazine as a kid. Liked the comics, spy vs. spy, fold-ups, and spoofing of all things current. Can’t say the TV show lived up to the magazine, but then again I’ve since grown out of zine itself.
I’m seeing that international shipments will available. Hmm, any plans for a TV series if the mag is a global hit? If so, will Randie be animated ala The Simpsons or will she be played by an actress?
chug… Yah… I could literally spend hours and hours in Libraries. When I was at UCSC, the library consumed a lot of my time… The McHenry Library is awesome!
stick… I, too, liked Mad mag. But the “zines” I am referring to are not “fan zines” … traditional magazines dedicated to a particular subject… but smaller well…. see link… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zine
brig… Thanks for the info. I’m just imagining your side project gaining accolades and successes. Hey, even in the opening paragraph of the wikipedia “zine” review you offered it says, “In recent years a number of photocopied zines have risen to prominence or professional status and have found wide bookstore and online distribution.” Woo hoo?!
stick: Yah… when I went to the Zine Fest in San Fran… it’s pretty amazing how “into it” some people are and how far their work has gone. I see my zine as walking on the fun cartoony side of zine-dome. I hope good things for it… and Thank you for the woohoo and well-wishing.
When I was a Young Grump I went to parochial school.
Now, some folks have sad and horrible stories about the priests, mine is this – one of the priests at the school introduced me to wargames, role playing games, and mimeograph machines…. He has much to answer for. :^P
I ran a ‘zine back in 1978 for wargaming and role playing games, printed on a Roneograph. My first paying work was for a small press RPG company in Bath, in part because of that long ago ‘zine. The smell of Mimeo spirit still fills me with nostalgia.
I met the priest again about twenty years later – he remembered the game both better and more kindly than I did.

Zines are what make my world go ’round.
I tried my hand at making a Zine once, it never made it past the first issue which never made it off my computer.

Aww…I kinda’ miss the zine days.
Brig… Question still stands if its US only. As sendig it overseas might be a little costlier…
Tride… I’m sorry I didn’t answer… Yes! YeS! I will send it over the pond… and over big bodies of water… or huge areas of land mass. It’ll be an extra 6 bucks…

Dangerous, dangers places, libraries. I’ve often started out looking for one thing, then found myself in an entirely different part of the library!
