I can totally relate to this comic. I cancelled my motorcycle licence about 20 years ago as I decided I was never going to buy another bike. I decided to get my licence again nearly 2 years ago so I could buy a 125cc scooter for commuting to work. I had to do a pre-Learner’s course then a year later a pre-provisional licence course. I wish I had just kept my motorcycle licence all those years ago
Huh, imagine that, Library as another name for google.
First comes the license, next is the registration and then comes insurance and gas. Oh wait, Fred’s gonna be picking up three of the four, the world is not so bad. Now if he just would stay off it…
Of course Randie will eventually discover the HORRIFYING TRUTH of the California DMV: It’s not the hours and hours spent on the classes that will consume her life. It’s the years and years of waiting in line at the DMV that will send her over the edge.
In Randie’s case, Stick… without the library, there’d be no computer and thus, no Google. And there ARE all those annoying little details such as registration and all that.
Tony… hindsight, they say… is better vision all the way around. (ps. Enjoying yer toons)

Pete,
Please take a number. Now Serving: HAL-9000
Yay, I love libraries! (Though, since one employs me, I’m biased.)
Randie should go read the newspapers on those big sticks. The crossword will ease her mind.

Pete… how ’bout it! Randie’s last experience with the DMV wasn’t a picnic. Here’s the beginning of that storyline.
W. McDuff…. I knew there was something about you…. are you a librarian (I like me some librarians).
Jack… hee hee…. you’ve been to a library before. I bet the Portland Library is AWESOME!

ps: love the scribbled dark cloud of frustration…i have known it well…
