Let Go
It’s funny sometimes… I mean how life works. Your story is happening every moment and when you pause to see what’s been written behind you, it’s kinda cool. I hope Ryan is writing this stuff down.

That’s because they were in shock, and the reality hasn’t caught up yet. Now they won’t have to deal with it, because they can have a party celebrating her return!
That’s why I’ve long since resolved to not get TOO down. It really is just a matter of time before things turn around. (And it helps to not get TOO full of yourself; it’s just a matter of time before…)
I’m sort of surprised that reopening the art-mart was not Mouse’s idea and that he had to dragged into it.
Great point Wolf. Her shock and anger have passed, replaced with renewed wonderment and ambition. The new store opening in a very convenient and familar place with a hire from a familiar face sure didn’t hurt matters. No telling about that last paycheck though, probably a lost cause at this point.
I thought that Shakespeare’s “All The World’s A Stage” would have made a nice addition here, but then read it through and boy is it depressing.
Rush’s Limelight is a bit better…
Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage
…
All the world’s indeed a stage

Outside the gilded cage
Happy Fat Tuesday everyone. Today’s the famed final day of revelry and drunken debauchery also known as Mardi Gras. With tomorrow being the start of 40 days of Lenten fasting and penance known as Ash Wednesday, or, according to the Ellen Show promos, the day of tattoo removal.
Grey… yes, shock and dismay… half the regular income… out the window (I wonder if there’s a French idiom for that… note to self)…
Pete… I have come to find out, in my own experiences, that getting too down is a waste of time and energy. It means you have to dig that much further out. We artists tend to get super emotional about things…. so it is often a challenge.
stick… You can read Grey’s comment two ways, the shock and dismay of Randie… or Java Bob’s…
And the world being a stage, leads me to direct folks to the second of the downloadable paper dolls… below… enjoy!
Brig,
Yah. I understand the thing about artists. Writers are artists as well, and just as susceptible to mood swings, generally in the down position. So much art comes from the need to express oneself, and that need is often born from the desperation of coloring a bland world and bland thoughts with the vivid imaginations drawn in the dark inks of creativity.
Pete, you summed that up wonderfully! I have often wondered why so many artists seem to do their best work when depressed. I think you’ve just given me more insight to the answer.
Pete… Yes, your superb writerness captured the phenom very well. Artist and writers work from places that often no one should go… or from a place everyone wish they could go.
Pash… expression is the conveyor belt to art…
