Knack
I have a knack for cleaning, too. Cinderella was a favorite movie of mine as a little girl… which, in a way, was kinda ironic. I also enjoy the company of little singing mice.

I can clean – and I’m really good at it. But I hate doing it usually. When I DO get a yen to clean something, however… STAND BACK!
A clean coffee machine – well soaped and rinsed to neutralize residual acids – is the first step to superior coffee.
And, after Brewster he’ll introduce her to John who would be their … uh, you know, coffee expelling receptacle, er, um, john.
I don’t know about singing mice but the repeated use of the word “knack” has now given me a singing ear worm. He’s singing My Sharona by The Knack from the album Get The Knack.

Anyone recognize the movie in this video?
From yesterday…
brig… How was the gypsy guitar recital?
Squid… Ha. That is one funny mopping song.
Pete… I go through fits of cleaning… and once I start, I just keep going. I think it annoys my people.
stick… Ha… coffee expelling place. I am sure it is on the list of duties… although, Joe’s Cuppa Joe is so small, you have to climb over the bar and over the stuff in the hall and ….
My Sharona is a good mopping song. And although I never saw it, I recognize the movie… though clearly, the movie was 20 years or so after the song was released.
to answer… the gypsy jazz was amazing! It was at Colton Hall… the house was packed and The TreeTop Trio were incredible… I felt like I was in a jazz club in 30’s Paris. Sigh….
If Fred has any sense, he won’t dare show Randie how to make coffee using Brewster. Talk about the fox guarding the hen house.
“Brewster”? What a punky name.
Yat… Oh… he won’t! Randie can’t keep from dropping her deliveries… I doubt she’d be a “quick learner” on Brewster and the whole making joe thing.
Dada… wah-wah. My sister loved that show. It made kids her age want to mismatch shoes and socks.
Yeh, “My Sharona” by “The Knack” can be a good mopping song. And the movie clips in the video are from “Reality Bites,” which really applies here.
stick, that song is from one of Adam Sandler’s comedy c.d.’s. It just sort of sticks in your head and wont go away once you’ve heard it. Several people at work also know this song, and like me, also sing it while mopping.
I believe the song title is ” the severe beating of a high school janitor ”
or something like that. I havent owned that c.d. in years. Its just one of those things that sticks in your head.
Brewster had best not be a Keurig machine…..
stick… good stuff.
Squid… it’s funny what gets stuck in your head. I’ve had the silly nonsense tunes from our new Wii (that we got at Xmas)…
UWG… NEVER!
my sharona was the number one top sellling record for 1979. shows what a hook can do for a song…(1978’s top seller was debbie boone’s “you light up my life”…what a difference a year makes). the knack’s sole flight to the top of the charts spawned a number of parodies, including the classic “my bologna” by weird al. story was doug fieger heard al’s song on dr. demento’s show and dug the song so much he got al his first record contract.
whoops…sorry. i shoulda said that doug fieger was the leader of the knack and wrote the song, “my sharona”.
wow, nice background. thanks for that firedome. enjoy the youtube. i’m happy it isn’t embedding here anymore…well at least not this time.
firedome… another fine service we provide on this website… squid-o-pedia! Thanks, firedome. I like the history of things… always fun… always fascinating.
