Always find out the terms before you agree to them… always. (Although, does anyone ever READ the itunes terms of agreement when they pop up?)
Anyhoo… In Portland, they deliver just about anything by bicycle… including coffee. But I didn’t find anybody deliverin’ joe by Vespa. Now here in Monterey, there’s a guy in a little Vespa Ape (pronounced ah-pay)… motoring the joe around. It’s a cute little coffee wagon!
Huh… that’s pretty cool actually. Wish we had coffee wagons peddling coffee round here instead of the every present ice cream trucks.
Has he done this before? He seems very well practised. Either that or he just he knows Randie that well. Or maybe both! Intrigue!
Closest thing in center city Philly is a cart vendor on most corners, selling cheese steaks, soft pretzels, various other foodstuffs, and soda and coffee. The coffee is served at a tepid temperature in a Styrofoam cup, no lid. On the bright side, if you wait a few minutes after getting the coffee, it’ll chemically melt the cup, making for an excellent joint compound.
5 a.m., ugh, that’s such an un-fun time to start work. Then again, when is a good time to start work?
“Food of the Gods” Coffee or Chocolate? Seems like a Mocha Latte with chocolate sprinkles would answer that debate.
As for me, I work nights now, and so, I am off to bed. No coffee, just a 9am nightcap.
Have a nice day everyone. I hope I can sleep through it.
Pash… maybe you could start a new business? Do you have a bike? Vespa? unicycle?
Dave: Fred knows Randie pretty well. Baristas are a bit like bartenders (the good ones anyways)… but Fred makes it a point to know everything… he foretold of the coming of the Vespid.
Pete: Melting cups aside… YOU need a Motocoffee situation! You and Pasha should talk!
Jack: 5am for Randie is Ridiculously Early! Me, my day starts at 6 am. With a little training, I might could do 5… I’d get so much done! My most-est creative time is from wake-up to lunch.
Joe: Your most-est creative time should be night-time… right? And as far as Chocolate & Coffee… yes God-like foods! My “across the street” neighborhood (near the office) coffee joint (Rollick’s) makes a mean Mexican Mocha hot chocolate situation! …. & sleep tight, Joe.
Ka…..zing!
Fred could just as well have been a lawyer, or any other form of wolf.
Wow, just led her along, dumb and happy, straight to the slaughter.
Randie seems to be able to run out of her place in the morn without much makeup time.
Still, a 5 am start time for work means at least a 4:30 am out-of-bed time (as opposed to wake-up). Good thing she doesn’t have much of a commute distance. Plus, it’s not like she’s going to have to do any rush hour battle at that time of day.
I, too, cherish early morning times as my most creative, sadly interruptions don’t care about the time of day. As for coffee, mine tends to be black. I’m personally not into the fancy pomp and fluff that goes with it. When at Starbucks, I tend to order up a “medium coffee, black.”
So, any of you artists out there…ever tend to tinker with your “finished” works when time allows? I made some nice little improvements and one big, killer, unimprovement on a second squid fan-art piece I drew up at the beginning of the week. I pretty much saved it with a bit of creative magic and a lot of added time. Sound familiar? I’m promising myself to stop now, and brig should have it to post soon enough. Look for it, featuring Spill (face visible this time), Randie, Kai, Mouse and Max, with special appearances by Twinkie, Harold, a pelican, and a sardine balloon. The theme is painting.
brig, yesterday Pasha asked about Harold having a tail or not. So today, I’m wondering-out-loud about whether Harold has any eyes? Your real Harold has an eye and a button, as did at least one of your strips. Both were used for my first fan art Harold that has an eye. Yet, looking at your recently drawn Harold and other pics going back…he’s got no eyes, just a button, as does my new, second fan art Harold. And, as I promised myself not to make any more tweaks to the pic, I’m holding back on putting in an eye…for now…
Stick… wow… that’s quite a novel… I mean comment.
Harold has one button eye. I sometimes draw two little dots where the other button eye might’ve been. (I didn’t have the heart to “take out real Harold’s pre-fab eye. I kinda like it… mind you, it didn’t bother me to have the “ear-ectomy” performed… Judy still has them around… probably in a jar).
Bring on more fan art. I think maybe I’ll start featuring them in the blog… to drum up interest?
brig… yeah, novel…comment…actually a lot more like a discussion, at least part of the time with myself. “Ear-ectomy”? Ouch. As for the sequel-ish fan art, “Tribute Too,” I’m still shooting for FF. I suppose I may be induced to offer up the originals again, there were a couple napkin sketches ahead of this one, coffee deliveries, huh? So what is this blog you speak of? You have a fan art link below your banner, but nothing concerning a blog.
Usually I post something under the initial comments under the cartoon. If you scroll down, you’ll see that the last post was about Donating to Race for Hope. (THAT’s a blog entry).
Stick: Yes, I tend to tweak my poetry, years after it was written – changing words and rhymes if the original makes me a bit… twitchy.
TWO of my favorite things: coffee, Vespids, and free coffee cards, THREE! THREE things! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as coffee,Vespids, free coffee cards, and almost fanatical devotion to drawing, FOUR!
Dada… you are a crazy busy drawer! Devotion’s a good word! Scapula comics, baby!
Ah… nope, don’t have a vehicle of any sort. Two wheeled or more… would be dangerous for me as I’m Narcoleptic… tends to spoil all the fun if you have a bad habit of falling asleep at the wrong times…
Though a coffee cart would be a wonderful idea if there wasn’t a “Car Struks” coffee on every corner round here. I live in the Seattle area… “Car Struck’s coffee, for that Run Down and Tired feeling, guaranteed service with a sneer”. Personally I hate their coffee and don’t know how they managed to convince most folks that burnt tasting coffee is gourmet. I have had very good dark roast coffee, and theirs isn’t dark roasted… it’s burnt!
Oh… sorry about the anti-Car Struck’s rant… I’m kind of passionate about my coffee.
Pash… Don’t fret the rant. When Scarbucks came around in earnest, I didn’t mind them. Then they started taking OVER… one on each corner on the same side of the street… driving other local joints out of business… and I got mad and declared I would never go in one again! Then my conviction weakened (I admit) when I kept getting their coffee cards as gifts. I loathed myself for awhile… then just figured… they are there. Sadly, at the time of this comment… a nice little locally owned coffee shop in downtown Monterey is being ousted from the building because of “a remodel”… you’d never guess who’s goin’ in AFTER the building remodel. Begins with an S.
Ugh! Yeah, their business practices are deplorable in my opinion… I actually turned down a temp job once when I found out it was to barista at one of their places. The temp agency really couldn’t understand that I had moral issues with working for them and just dropped me after that.
But eh… my hubby has a good job so It wasn’t a choice between working for them or being homeless… I might have had to swallow my pride and work there if things had been different though.
