Its only work if you don’t like it, otherwise it’s play for pay.
Nice devotion all the same, and she gets time to keep up on comic stories. But if truly bored, maybe she can take tips from others, like sketching from Randie or whatever Grace does to fill her time at work.
Ugh… one of the greatest and also worst aspects of my job is the downtime. Because I manage all the computers/networks/IT-type-thingies for the company, when things are running smoothly, I’m doing my job by doing nothing. And that gets REALLY boring, REALLY fast.
stick… true… even in a store full of comics, there can be boredom. Midge works in the only place where reading comics is “doing research”… how can you recommend something you’ve not read? Midge needs to crack open some new titles.
Pete… Keeping yerself busy sounds like it may be a task at times. I’m sure there’s lots of folks dying to be in your shoes though.
Jack… hee hee. You’ll recognize a coupla shirts… Scapula anyone? Hyper-Geeky… (here comes another plug) is a new website started by some of my comic book pals (Pete… something for you to do in your downtime, yes?)… have a look-see: http://www.hypergeeky.com/category/comics/
speaking of comics…further confusion begins tomorrow in san jose. it’s a convention where folks like myself get together and hang…lotsa costuming, merchandising, panel discussions, fun and games and comics galore!
the only downside is i can’t be there this year…i missed scheduling it. 🙁
dome… That’s sad. So what would you have dressed as, had you gone? Maybe taken a page from brig’s comic and gone as a ship capt.? Come to think of it, I wonder if brig might have donned her blonde wig and ever gone to a comic-con disguised as Randie.
If its any consolation, on Sunday at noon (pacific time) the Frisco Niners will be playing the Atlanta Falcons (at Atlanta) with the winner playing in this year’s Super Bowl. And the Niners are being favored to win, yeah. Should be lots of local sports-themed watering holes with plenty of enthusiastic folks dressed in costume to hang with, if that be your thing.
brig… No way, I’m a long-time fan and would likely be wearing some fan ware. What will tee them (us) off is calling the team the Santa Clara Niners, a reference to the location of the team headquarters, practice facility and new billion plus dollar stadium that is now under construction.
Go Frisco!
Captain and Tennile, HA, now that would be a costume pairing worthy of convention attention. Only thing is that you’ll have to brush up singing “Muskrat Love.”

I like the shirt in the upper left. That RAWKS!

…and here I thought that any SCAPULA merchandise would end up in the bargain bin!

Dada… right next to the Squid Row merchandise.
firedome… rats… what con is that? I’m gonna miss it, too.
stick… those Frisco Niner fans will string you up by your toes if they hear you calling them that.
If Firedome and I both dressed up as you’ve suggested… we’d be the Captain and Tennile.

stick… Yah… their new stadium makes me WANT to call them the Santa Clara 49rs. It’s not exactly in SF is it?
I loved “Muskrat Love” when it came out. Now… not so much.
