Itty Bitty
I do this… I spend time googling myself around France on Street view. It’s one way to revisit where you’ve been and preview where you’re about to go… It’s a great travel guide in and of itself.

That’s a pretty cool idea, you get to see where you’ve been or where you would like to go.
I think at this point in my life I’d RATHER travel that way. I’m quite sick of getting shipped from one end of the planet to the other!
I do the same thing, but with Midway Island. They added an incredibly comprehensive Google cam last year. It goes along all the paths, the runway, the piers, and even through the warehouses.
Sounds like a great way to scratch my “itch de Francais”! I’ll have to give that a shot soon!
I usually go exploring around tiny, remote islands.
Très bonne idée!
Gramy… it’s what we do when we want to travel… we check out Google Earth and it’s a good place to start.
Lady J… I know that after awhile, living from a suitcase gets tiresome, but I know some people who never get to travel because of the weight of their lives… and I feel badly for them.
Pete… I should have a look… There are even museums and coffee shops you can float around in, too. Google Museum is way cool!
Rich… I highly recommend it. Virtual France is nice… not as nice as say BEING there, but nice.
Chug… yah, best to see them virtually… I wouldn’t want to be on a little plane trying to navigate the HUGE ocean to get there… yes, I know there’s satellites… but still… the ocean…
Ep…. moi thinks so.
Are you kidding? Look at the size of that phone! It’s big enough to drive a Vespid over!
Great idea! I’ve never used Street View except around town. I saved us a trip once, when we were house-hunting. Nice looking house, from the picture in the magazine; but it turned out to be right next to a crummy looking trailer park. Nothing against trailers or trailer parks, I’ve lived in one, but crummy-looking? No, thanks.
