Howloween
Happy Halloween All! May you have a safe and spooky All Hallows Eve!
Well, for such a mild-mannered guy, Ryan just gets all competitive when he plays Scrabbled… and mind tingling word games aren’t Randie’s thing. (Tangent: wanna see a wonderfully dreadful Vincent Price movie? Rent The Tingler ). And still, Randie continues to play with the seasoned wordsmith. I hope there are some horribly potent potions to drown out her “loser-sorrows”….
I reckon Randie could get her revenge by playing Pictionary!
I prefer Uncle Vincent’s appearance on the Muppet Show and his retelling of; The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.
You’re right Brig, I do like this one :)!
Very interesting approach to Scrabble, might have to try that sometime. Maybe the Christmas version though, I prefer Christmas candy to Halloween candy. (I’m terrible, i know 😉 )
Yes, Pictionary would be something Randie could CREAM Ryan at. (Save that for a future toon).
OH yes, Joe… I have that on DVD… one of my favorite Muppet Show episodes!
The Scrabbled Christmas Version… instead of candy corn… candy canes (although, I LIKE candy canes)… Instead of AbbaZabbas, uh… what exactly?
Let’s all give Vincent Price his due respect. Definitely watch his aforementioned appearance on ‘The Muppet Show’, but also check out some of his great films, including ‘Theatre of Blood’, ‘Madhouse’, ‘House on Haunted Hill’, ‘House of Wax’ and many others (and let’s not forget his awesome cameo on Alice Cooper’s “Welcome to my Nightmare” album).

Brig: Wow… I actually had a useful suggestion? Yay, me! (I just want Randie to give Ryan a taste of his own smug medicine *bwahahahaha*). Having looked up Abba-Zabas, I must say I’m at a loss for an equivalent – ‘cept maybe Laffy Taffy…
Dada: Careful there, mentioning Vincent so effusively – you’ll set Brig off on one of her raptures about the master 🙂 (That’s not a complaint – the man was amazing!)
Yes, yes… Dada, “House on Haunted Hill” was playing in the background to the Halloween Party I attended last night. Wonderfully creepy and most appropriate! See here for my homage!
Astragali,
I had to look up Abba Zabbas myself. Found an Old Time Candy website that sells them and other nostalgic candy you never heard of or are a distant memory.

Great Website, Joe! Marathon Bars! Yah! I loved those when I was a kid!
Brig- Those huge hollow novelty chocolate Santas and whatnot they sell around Christmas! I’ve also never heard of AbbaZabbas. (I know they have nothing to do with eachother, but there’s an ABBA documentary playing behind me :D)
Also those round peppermints for smaller point amounts…Chocolate coins, chocolate decorations. the possibilities are endless!
Brig,
Marathon bars! A woman after my own heart.
The Trick or Treaters started showing up just as it was getting dark(4pm your time). Still not very many. I’m handing out three pieces of candy at a time. Mostly 14 and younger. The older teens seem to show up between now and 8pm local(6pm). After 8, I’ll turn off the outside light, take the leftover candy to my favorite watering hole and let them hand it out to any customers with young kids.
Candy crazy: Yah… the kids jut started here… 6pm Pacific time. We got Small bags of pretzels, dum dums and tootsie rolls for the little monsters.
I never ate AbbaZabbas as a kid. I loved Hundred Thousand Dollar Bars, Milky Ways… Marathon Bars, Chunky… Then later became a fan of Cadbury Caramel Bars… and now I am all about those little dark chocolate mints you get a Trader Joes…I love them! Dark Chocolate has really grown on me in my old age…. I hated the Hershey’s Special Dark as a kid… I used to give them to my Mom when I gathered them at Halloween.
Time to shut down and head out.
Good Night and Happy All Hallow’s Eve!
Oh… And I’m listening to Pandora Radio’s Halloween Party Station… fun stuff. Booooo!
