Goodbye Hello
Anymore, once you get passed Halloween… it’s ALL CHRISTMAS… poor Thanksgiving is pretty much a forgotten holiday… it’s ironic.

It’s the first of the month! Remember to vote! (See the link under rank me! to the left.)
[Jon Stewart]Christmas has gotten so big that it’s eating other holidays! Look out Hallowe’en – you’re next![/Jon Stewart]
The Auld Grump – not likely – Hallowe’en is the second biggest commercial success….

Well, after all, Thanksgiving is kind of grim; Basically a celebration of giving thanks for survival. I’d guess few of us have likely been close enough to starvation to imagine how our colonial ancestors felt–having more than enough food to make it through the coming winter.
It’s true, Christmas and Halloween both start in August, competing for our
attention until they are both over. Poor Thanksgiving no longer exists.
I gets a bit irritated that we skip over Thanksgiving. Our country has gotten so that we celebrate that which we can make lots of money over. In a way, I like that a day of thanks cannot be monetized like many of the big commercial holidays like Christmas. Gratitude to God & food provisions are basics to living. (I know they still make $ at Thanksgiving… Just not like Halloween, etc).
Way too early Christmas song??? Uwg… I shall find!
Our Country celebrates what the Corporate media tells us is important to celebrate. They do not tell us to celebrate peace love and kindness 365 days a year, they tell us to buy stuff and be afraid of anyone not like us.
Our fellow humans are hundreds of times better then we are told, trust your instincts and personal knowledge over the Corporate Media.
On the other hand, at an art store I want things to be a holiday or two ahead — I want a month to transform the supplies into something before it’s time to hang them up.
