Of course, it always depends on the circumstances. That one looks like it has been on the street for a while, which means all kinds of nasty little beasties could have taken up residence. In fact, there were probably lots of nasty creepy-crawlies in there **before** it was put on the street. Only time in Randie’s apartment will tell . . .
Bookcases? Sure.
Dressers? Sure.
Tables? Of course!
Anything upholstered that can have fluids soaked in & bugs crawling around? Oh HELL no! *Shudders* Just think of the things YOU might do on a sofa, or recliner chair, or mattress…and imagine lying in someone else’s “leavings”. Just…no.
I’m with Dawnieangel on this one… although, I’ve gotten material-like furniture from Goodwill before, and that, for some reason is okay.
But don’t get me wrong… I’m not against free… oh, no sir!
My spider senses are tingling….as well as my lice, bedbug, flea, and numerous others.
I’m definitly with Dawnieangel. Ick! I’m pretty sure Goodwill does a thorough cleaning before putting anything in the store, likely with Windex. Windex fixes everything.
Randie’s sweater is such an awesome shade of green, and Kai looks cool in colour!
Goodwill has standards; they don’t take anything that should be tossed away. Also, I’m rather sure they have a cleaning service on standby to do some pro-bono work with light furniture cleaning. However, even then, I personally wouldn’t do it. *L* But I’m very OCD that way.

Although, knowing Randie with her circle of friends, she probably knows somebody…who knows somebody…who knows how to properly clean & refurbish furniture.
In the Cartoonery, here, I have a leather-ish chair which looks like it was once part of a sectional couch, that is just the bee’s knees! You sink into it and it’s just the best loungy chair ever! It came from Goodwill… HA! That sounds like an old b-movie horror flick!
Anyhoo… I do so love second-hand stores. So does Randie… go figure.
Oh, don’t get me wrong. I LOVE a good secondhand/thrift/Goodwill store run. My mom & I can spend an entire DAY in one of those places. We just never come home with anything that can’t either A) be put in the washer/dryer, B) get hosed down outside, or C) scrubbed with bleach and/or cleaning wipes without being damaged! *L*
i got both my couches for free on the street and they’re fine so nyah !
i usually pick up free furniture. last thing i got was a chest of drawers.

I’ve picked up more than a couple pieces myself back in yesteryear. Now my kids come home with the oddest things…
The most recent was a washing machine WE put out on the curb as trash. Sure enough, a guy came along in his pickup and grabbed it. Good for him.
Ew, ew, EW!
