I wonder if Grace hates kids in general or if it’s more Grace hates kids because she knows – or thinks she knows – she’d be an awful mother and therefore can’t have any.
One thing that’s been consistent with Grace throughout the comic – other than her foul mood – is that she has a very concrete and immobile worldview. She doesn’t compromise and she deals out her brand of “justice” to those who are doing wrong, whether it’s to her or to others. Moreso, she is so expecting the worst in people, Grace will pre-punish people. And it’s that worldview, more than anything, that has soured her on people.
The planned irony here is of course that Grace’s name is the opposite of her personality and reputation. Her good name is contrary to her bad reputation.
And STILL I hold out hope. But then, I’m the kind of person who hopes the well-liked character doesn’t die in the movie if I watch again.
C. Mage… yah, Grace is a bit of a … no, she is a BIG pill.
*Weirdo sidenote… ya ever get Good & Plenty or some other candy coated licorice candy as a kid? They looked like little pills. So they had black ones and purple ones… this makes me think of Grace… heeheheh.
Pete… You’ve pinned Grace. You’ve thought a bit about her, haven’t ya? I like your assessment.
This is a rather long (maybe epic) storyline… and the outcome is uncertain. Will Grace get over Twinkie? Will Twinkie be found? Will he simply be ” that missing cat”? I hope peoples won’t be overly anxious about it and want a quick conclusion… I mean… all life is an unfolding story.
Pete,
That someone would be a bad parent doesn’t mean they cn’t have kids. It just means they shouldn’t; there are far too many examples of this distinction.
I love the look on Grace’s face in the last panel!!! LMAO! I putting in a link to a video I saw recently that no one should show Randie… EVER! I’m not sure if I’m putting it in right, but we’ll see.
Pete and Beetles, hmm if Grace knows enough that she would be a bad mother, and thus doesn’t have kids because of it…that is rather altruistic of her wouldn’t you say? So many people have kids because they want little human accessories. If that is indeed the case, my respect for her may have gone up a notch. Half a notch….one quarter of a notch.
There’s no way in all of Creation that Twinkie would be “That Lost Cat”. He’s the bad penny that will always turn up. Pete has a pretty decent assessment of Grace, plus I would add, the arrival of this new baby might throw a monkeywrench or two into her pre-planned assessments, since I believe this is going to be unfamiliar territory for her to deal with.
Makin’ lattes…..reminds me of my Caribou Coffee days with the old-fashioned espresso machine, tamping the steamed milk on the shelf, etc, etc. I was always trying my best to emulate the most delicious coffee drink I’ve ever had…The Black Forest Mocha!
Bridgett, that isn’t how getting a baby works. First you get a cat, then the baby comes.
My brother, for example, got his wife a cat in hopes that taking care of it would lessen her want for a child. They ended up with a cat and a lovely baby girl. Later my best friend bought his wife a cat. I warned him that it would lead to babies but he didn’t listen and soon they had a cat and a daughter.
So the way it works is that B.B. should have gotten the cat and then she’d get pregnant. It’s just the facts of life, really.
Dada… no doubt. Wait, did you just call Grace a troll? You are so in for it if it gets back to her… Even though she only has 4 fingers, I bet she could find a middle one for you.
Jump… Well, I don’t believe she has any altruistic motives… she simply cannot stand to be around children.
Jon… certainly you have earned new status to me by divulging your former barista-ness. I hold baristas in high regard! You are higher in the regard area! I will be messaging you for sure, about this!
OH, Dear, Unca Bad… I had no idea there was a formula. Um… however, when I got a kitten a few years back, I then became an Auntie… is that the same, sorta? … and I must say for the record… I LOVE being an auntie. In my estimation, it’s probably better than being a mom… but I’m sure there will be an argument on that one. I am one of those who didn’t want kids… so some of Grace’s behavior isn’t foreign to me.
Legacy… I like the term “poking his nose into her could mood.” …. and the term “death glare.” Smiles.
Mage… hahaha hahahahaaha… ahahahahahahaha. Black pills, purple bottle, hard to open child-proof top.
Grace “can’t” have kids because she knows she’d be a bad parent. The thought process is, “I’d be such a horrible mom, that I can’t have kids. I just just couldn’t do that to them.”
And Grace is upset about BB having kids because Grace thinks BB will be a bad parent. Is that Grace projecting on BB her own fears of being a bad mom? Or is it truly insight into BB’s character? Hard to say, but it’s pretty clear BB can’t even take care of a cat.
Well, to be fair, Grace hates everything that isn’t Grace, so you think they’d have caught on by now…

FUn MIKE! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! This is so Scary!!!!!!
How to piss off trolls: remind them that not everything revolves around their own rotten lives!

Also to be fair, that guy really didn’t need to poke his nose into her foul mood. He rather deserves the deathglare there.
Grace isn’t a pill….she’s a PHARMACY.

Fun Mike thank you so much for that video! lol
