Letting Edbert down gently! Yay! *punches the air*
As for his name, I did some Googling, and it wasn’t a popular name within the US or the UK within the last 100 years (outside top 100 UK, outside top 1000 US – the only info I could get). However, there is an Edbert in the USA: Dr. Edbert Hsu of Johns Hopkins Medicine, specialising in medicine in disaster-stricken areas. Sounds like a stand-up guy to me.
Oh, and Edbert means “wealthy” or “bright”. Sounds like Dr. Edbert Hsu could be both!
Edbert didn’t take it well… he was not happy… breaking up is never easy to do… but Em is a truly nice person and would only do what is right.
Edbert I found on a list of English names…. I wanted a name that SOUNDS English.
Speaking of English persons… I’ve been in San Francisco the last couple days and was able to see the Daily Show’s John Oliver (at Cobb’s Comedy Club), their resident Brit. Oh… it was sooo funny.
I do apologize for not answering emails and comments. But….. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to one and all!
Brig,
“Edbert”? Is that short for “Edward Bertram”? If his full name were: Edward Bertram Burrows, that would make him sound very English.
Hmmm, the only Edbert that I ever knew was a French speaking Mainer, about seventy years old, back in the seventies. If I recall properly he pronounced it to rhyme with ‘bear’, but a few folks called him either ‘Ed’ or ‘Bert’ despite his pronunciation.
Ah yes, the dreaded “Have I ever told you about my soon to be ex?” phone call.
To be followed by “I’d like to introduce you to my new Fiance.”

As an english person? I can tell you: No, you don’t get many Edberts. xD
Hehehe, sounds like one of Dilbert’s cousins. 😉
