Exhausting
AIL (art imitating life). The day I did this toon, I was really rather angry having read about the proposed budget plans for the gov’t… that would slash the NEA, and many worthwhile and important programs that help people. This anger lasted ALL friggin’ day… I was exhausted by it.
I think perhaps a chalkboard message behind the pair would’ve been cool… like “Save the NEA” or “PBS is awesome”… or something.
Maybe they could relax by reading webcomics. There’s this one called “Squid Row” that’s supposed to be pretty good…
Yeah, I’m glad I’m Canadian. Reading our news is bad enough. Reading what little I do of American news is brain-leeching!
The annoying is that things like the NEA, NASA, etc, are nickle and dime expenses. There are other places where they could cut more, and have smaller impact. Suppose, for example they cut the DOD by 10%. Saves roughly $50 Billion. Rethink our adventures in the middle east, where we have no business.
We have the money, we just are spending it foolishly. Remember the promise to rebuild the infrastructure? The $70 Billion that the proposed border wall would cost would fix a lot of highways, bridges, rails….
I need to stop, lest I run screaming, naked, into the night….
Then you and I will both run screaming into the night in the buff!… I am with you on all accounts. I’m more than positive that funding for the Arts and Humanities has been well worth the meager funding they get. Grover and Big Bird have touched SO MANY lives! Theater companies have helped many people find their way. Artists make the world worth living in with their color and design…
Oh look… you got me started! And then there’s roads and bridges … (metaphorical ones as well).
