Etymology Gift
“if only…”
The book is real except it goes by the name “Klein’s….”
I wouldn’t mind to have that there book in MY library, either… I love reference books.

I would SO go for that book! I positively love etymology.
Back around 1980, we had an etymologist visit our Primitive Religion 101 class at Cal State Fullerton. He said virtually any word could be traced to a country of origin, regardless of how many times it had changed over the centuries. He asked for us to give him some words and he’d tell us where they originated from. When my turn came, I said, “Apple”. He turned to the world map behind him and… stood there. Finally he said, “I think you just found a word that can’t be traced.”
Ah, he can just make up the etymology. It’s more fun that way!
Wow! That’s interesting… apple… and “snake” ???
I would like that book too. For many years I have enjoyed the radio show “A Way with Words”
Happy holidays to your whole house.

I know what you mean about reference books; before Wiki-spirals, I could get into bad encyclo-spirals!
If there is one, I think a Steinbeck concordance would be even more suitable for Ryan. Possibly more expensive too.
Awww, I wonder if some Christmas miracle will get her enough money to buy that for him. XD
