Enids Practice
Fezziwig was Ebeneezer Scrooge’s former employer in Dickens’ Christmas Carol (in the classic Muppet Christmas Carol, t’was Fozziwig or Fozzie Bear). Full of giddy holiday merriment and jovial good will t’wards his employees, Mr. Fezziwig is to be commended for his good nature… and an inspiration for employers everywhere!
Another good example from Dickens of amenable employers would be the Cheeryble Brothers, from “Nicholas Nickleby”.
The Muppet Christmas Carol is considered on a lot of lists as among the top five or ten in adaptations.
We started our annual family Christmas-movie-watching last night with… Die Hard. We’ll go to much more festive movies from here, saving the Muppets for Dec 21, Grinch and Charlie Brown for Dec 24, and A Christmas Story for Dec 25.
DCS… I haven’t yet read that Dickens book yet. Did you like it?
Pete…. Happy C_M_W! I actually know someone whose favorite Christmas movie is DieHard (and stay tooned for a comic about CMW). Personally, I only watch DieHard for Alan Rickman’s performance… He’s such a wonderfully sexy bad guy! AHEM…. I’ve had a go at Muppets already this year…. Snoopy is on the horizon! … and I’m feeling like “The Bishop’s Wife” here shortly… if you like Carey Grant (and speaking of sexy)… you’ll like this one.
Alan Rickman DIE HARD Tidbit: When filming the final scene, Alan Rickman was told that he’d be released (onto a soft pad, NOT 30 stories) on the count of three; and that he was supposed to give the proper terrified look of a man falling to his death.
They let him go at “two”.
Definitely a big fan of The Muppet Christmas Carol (Michael Caine can do no wrong), although it’s sad that Fozzie’s role was so brief.
I’m dyslexic and read “fortification” as something else…
Pete… that’s one way to do it… short of throwing him off a real 30 story building.
Dada… Fortification… the other (something else) is a different kind of party all together.
Pete… Like your advent calendar of dvd’s. Nice job with the Christmassy (?) Die Hard as a start. If you hurry out and beat the rush (?) Walgreens had a sale circular in today’s (Wed.) paper with full-size fishnet stocking/leg table lamps from “A Christmas Story” now on sale.
Nice to see that Enid’s gotten her normal skin tone back. Absinthe musta worn off.
Also good to see Randie getting more festive and holiday spirited. So what’s with her hair? Looking a tad droopy, stringy and in likely need of a shampoo.
