Enid Invite
I love hot apple cider. I’d go just for that! And, uh… I think pumpkin chucking is a terrible waste of food. There is, in fact, a shortage of pumpkins this year due to the floods.

Hey, I’d go if there was such a local event around here! The closest we have is the pumpkins that get run over when owners leave them too close to their driveways.
Wow, that’s gotta be a BIG youth center. The standing record for pumpkin chuckin is over 3/4 of a mile. Carving pumpkins is a lot of fun and Enid’s clothes are conspicuously unsplattered.
We picked up our pumpkins a week ago. My wife looooooves the big pumpkins and I love fall decorations. So we picked up three pumpkins (one of them an 81 pound monster), six small gourds and pumpkins for decorating the table, a bundle of eight-foot corn stalks, and four small hay bales.
We love the fall!
Pete… you love you some Fall fer sure! Did you need a crane for that pumpkin? Sheesh!
Stick… wow! That’s a long way for a pumpkin to be hurdled!
Dada… I sad fer your non-pumpkin patchy-ness. I bet you have some great haunted houses, though.
Yah, those pumpkin chunkin events use huge crazy cannons, catapults, trebuchets and other scary devices. Here’s a pumpkin chunkin game to help set the mood. Its a promo for the upcoming Thanksgiving broadcast on the Discovery and Sci channels.

I’m with you on hot apple cider, mmm, …and pumpkin pie.
I had something that would warm your heats on a fall/winters’ night:
1 part Cherry Brandy
1 part Tia Maria
1 part Bailey’s
1 part Godiva Chocolate liquer
Build over ice
Stir and pay your tab because its the last drink of the night.
Forget jack o’lanterns, I’m waiting for the pie pumpkins to show up in the stores– fresh pumpkin pie, YUM!
FUN… Stick… who don’t love chuckin’ virtual pumpkins at tractors!?
Joe…and what does one call this? Chocolate covered cherry?
Chug… oh yes… I love da pumpkin pie, too… and really… it’s good fer yah! Wink.
Brig,
I call it: Coffee Supreme!!!
>hic<
Brig,
I kid you not!
If anyone likes the taste of Irish Coffee(Coffee, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Jameson), if they would add cherry brandy and Godiva chocolate, then they would drink nothing else!!!
The Tia Maria(coffee flavored liquor) takes the place of coffee.
One! And I mean ONLY one to a customer!!!
Oh wow, just saw this crazy-elaborate homemade Halloween Light & Sound Show on Huffpost. Its of a house in Riverside, Ca that obivously loves Halloween and has some money to spare. Enjoy…
Halloween Light show
Don’t know why some links embed and others don’t. There’s more on the right side of the image thats cropped off here. More of the lighted graveyard and vertical white lights…but you get the idea. Amazing display. If you want to see the whole thing enter the name shown in youtube’s search, or just enjoy above what is shown.
I fixed it Stick. I know you TRIED to link it… but I’d rather not have the embeded stuff in the comments section… links only please, everybody. Thanks.
I might need to skip that drinkee-poo, Joe… I like waking up with my head attached.
Ahh fall! Going to the pumpkin patch, corn mazes, Halloween decorations, and of course, pumpkin pie! And if ya got any Pennsylvania Dutch in ya, shoe fly pie.
I do agree with you, pumpkin chunkin’ is a waste. I always hate seeing them smashed all over the road after halloween.
Dressing up yer house on Halloween is always fun. Sadly, not many people seem to want to do this anymore.
Brig,
Just remember:
If you don’t have one tonight, when you wake up tomorrow, that’s the best you’ll feel all day!
brig… Thanks for fixing the link into an actual…link. I don’t know why some recent ones have embedded, of mine as well as others, and not others, including another one I sent today.
That house display just blew me away. Your “minion #1,” Nelson, should love that there are 1144 channels (I’m assuming separate lighting elements) synched up for the show. That’s some nice computer programming work they got there.
squid… I live at the end of a dark tree filled cul-de-sac and had taken to using lighted inflatable plug-in balloons (they’re 8 feet tall, one is a mummy, the other a tree with jack o lantern pumkins and ghosts around it) to get trick or treaters to dare venturing by. Gotta say, they work a bit too well, like magnets drawing shavings, cheeses drawing mice, or Bob’s dead body drawing seagulls.
I looked up your shoo-fly pie. Might be good, only a molasses and brown-sugar pie seems to be extremely sweet. I’d likely need much straight black coffee to wash it down. So do you like yours as wet-bottom or dry-bottom?
Its not too sweet actually. coffee is essential with it. A good blend of wet and dry is the best.
