M. Bard… she does seem to have longevity, doesn’t she? Maybe she’s MORE awful to Randie and her friends… and just “not that friendly” to everyone else.
…
Nah.
Chug… When I worked for Dizney, there were no such things as slackers. They didn’t hire that lot. Ha! Could you just see Grace in Mickee Maus ears?
Mary… We even hear from B.B. every now and again. But yah… Grace is just too good a character to let go of. She HAS to stay employed somehow.
Leo… no tip for Grace!
Pete.. Meeting expectations…. meh. I guess Randie keeps GOING there, so there must be some reason… because it’s not for the cheery waitstaff.
Honestly, given how people treat most customer service personnel, I’m amazed more of them aren’t like Grace. It’s one thing to say ‘you have to be pleasant, it’s part of your job’. It’s entirely another to give them a reason to be. And our society is only getting more picky and demanding of them. A bad attitude to start on their part doesn’t help, but many I’ve met are just fed up with dealing with idiots and nitpickers on the other side of the counter (I was in a sub shop about a week ago and I actually heard someone demand ‘different tomatoes’. What was wrong with the first ones I don’t know. This was also a person who asked for more of everything no matter how much was put on in the first place….. the sub guy wised up by the third topping and started putting hardly anything on.)
NObody seems to have noticed yet, so I’ll comment. The look on Grace’s face, especially in the second panel, is priceless! She doesn’t have anything remotely resembling the looks of sheer viciousness that once “Graced” her face – she looks more resigned, than anything, to the fact that she’s been taken down a peg or three and no longer is in the catbird seat! (another Bard-ism, if I’m not mistaken!) I love it!
The sheer fact that Grace remains employed anywhere short of a charnel house is amazing to me
I don’t know which I hate worse, slackers or people who tell you what you should want/critique your choices.
Plot armor. Amazing stuff.
YES, this IS a Test!
And you’ve ALREADY failed!
I seriously doubt “meeting expectations” has to worry about overuse, either.

that wa amazingly laid back for grace. is barista-ing civilizing her? if so, will the balance of the universe make someone else nastier?
This will end in blood.
I think I like Squish. A lot.

Mocking Bard – “charnel house” – something you rarely hear in polite conversation – I love it! Such a charming term – or should I say “charning…”?
Rich: I’m a fan of the term myself, it’s much more appropriate in mixed company than calling it a bone shack
anatman… Ya think so? Maybe the boss was around.
Dada… Your comic has enough blood going on for all of us!
Val… Hee hee… she don’t mess around, Squish.
Jenn… Nitpickers and poo-poo-ers need not come into Java Bob’s… a dagger stare, and a friendly gesture behind the counter might be all they get.
Rich/Bard… Did you know that Picasso did a painting called “The Charnel House”? It is in the same style as “Guernica.”

Brig: I’ve seen it, love the painting, hate the painter with an unbridled fury
Rich: Yes, she appears angry that she’s being forced to do her job…how sad for her
Rich… pegged it.
Mock.B… Yes, I know what you mean. It is an interesting relationship I have with Picasso.
Rich… Grace is a top notch poo-poo head… BUT ya never know… she might could change her tune someday. Life is funny like that.
