But to do a big job like this, her organization skills will almost have to improve. If she can get through this project, I’ve a hunch Randie will have picked some new skills while refining some existing.
Does Jacques have a pocket protector for that flower he’s sprouting?
This is much like how I put together cartoons and illustrations. Lotsa sketchpad, printer paper and napkin notes followed by additions and changes here, there, everywhere. Space, length and time restrictions confound me.
The cafe’s walls look so finished in all the panels. Freshly painted with shelves, signs, framed paintings, a big, giant mirror (previous comics)… so, where’s a huge mural to go?
Sometimes – most times? – an artist’s mess is far more organized than it looks. When you look at some of my stories-in-progress, there seems to be little sense for a lot of the things I’ve put in there. But it’s a choreographed process in my head, even if no-one else can understand it. Connections, nuances, and relationships between multiple disparate ideas are all but obscured while the work is incomplete but pull together upon completion. Here, I think, is the best example of the old saying, “The whole is more than the sum of its parts.”
That’s… more or less how I write. Thank goodness for cut-and-paste!

Randie’s dare I say…..a tad smitten? I mean, listen to (or read) his accent.

Art indeed.
Waaait a second…Jacques looks familiar. Dark Frenchman with a big nose…maybe change his hair a little…egad! It’s JEAN RENO!
(okay, if you want to get technical Jean Reno is actually a Spaniard, but most American audiences know him as a mysterious Frenchman in the movies)
This, my friends, is how my drawing desk looks at present. It’s a horrid pile… I go through periods of beautifulness and piled mess. Sigh.
Randie is not so neat in her work… but like you Pete, I’m sure she has it all right in her head.
Chug… yes, I am quite fond of the maneuverable tools… in Photoshop and such places.
Jack… smitten-ness…. we’ll have to see how this whole thing plays out… shall we?
Dada… will have to find out more about this Jean Reno. I’m sure his mug will be familiar when I see it.
stick… there is a whole wall in front of the characters (if they were to look at the camera) that we’ve not seen. There is also a back wall….
