Condolences
My sister is expecting her second kiddo… and I shall be an auntie twice over. It will be interesting to see how the relationship betwixt the two siblings (older sister-younger brother) unfolds… as I witnessed the relationship betwixt my younger brother and even younger sister.
I have an older brother. We get along just fine from 200 kilometers away!
No, he got that wrong, he should have said “ANOTHER” rotten little beast.
No, a brother. They’re infinitely worse.
So, Brig… if your sister were to have a son, would that make you an uncle as well as an aunt? 😉
Oops… hit ‘Post Comment’ too soon…
I’m the oldest of five, with two younger sisters and two younger brothers. We had our fights and spats growing up but got along fine otherwise. Now, as adults all in their 40s and 50s, we’re better than ever.
And my sweetie and I have five sons, ages 17 to 30 and they’ve always gotten along great, with only minor altercations in all those years. It helps to have that many kids, especially in a small home. They HAVE to learn to get along, so they do.
Trev… sometimes that’s what you need… space. It’s funny… my sister and I never lived in the same city after I left home and she went to school. It’s nice having her so close… well, 25 miles away could be closer and I’d love it even more!
Gramy… ha-ha… he’s not rotten. Just a brother.
Dada… hahahahha. TRUE!
Pete… er, wha? By the way, she is having a boy… I’m calling him Schmurf.
You truly have a blessed family. I know families who can’t stand each other or are not there for one another … it is a shame, really. I have an Aunt who no longer talks to the family… this makes me sad because we were quite close when I was little. Fortunately, I have some REALLY AWESOME aunts, too.
Congratulations to your sister… and to you! I’ll just bet you are one of the REALLY AWESOME aunts to them. So exciting for all of you. 🙂 When is she due?
Thanks, Jammie! My sister is due about a month from now.
And there are lots of aunts out there… but there are fewer Aunties. Capital A. I aspire to be A Capital A Auntie. It helps that my niece is a pretty awesome little kid.
