On the one hand, I say although Mouse was just trying to put a gentler light on the process he should be more careful in choosing his words – and avoid the Freudian slip while he’s at it.
But on the other hand, methinks Randie should have some thoughts about why she would have a kneejerk response to someone framing it that way, especially since she’s obviously oblivious to Mouse’s infatuation with her so it couldn’t be about who said it, she just wouldn’t have made the connection consciously.
I think the best thing Mouse has going for him in their “relationship” is the fact that Randie is apparently clueless about his infatuation with her. If she knew… well, I don’t know how well that would go. Probably not well.
Work the books, Mouse, until you’ve grown up enough to work without a net when it comes to women.
squid feller… words just get all jumbled up in Mouse’s mouth, don’t they?
One or two wrong words and he loses his managerial mojo.
Grey & Pete… Randie has “selective understanding” … she chooses to understand some things and chooses to overlook things she doesn’t want to understand. I call it “sticking it in a drawer and forgetting about it.” My family is good at this.
when you’re interviewing someone with whom you have an emotional tie, no matter how lopsided that tie may be, it’s difficult not to get said emotions jumbled in with things….
I do know that I have said ” let’s make a lunch date” or ” why don’t we hook-up sometime” with the best of intentions, and it’s been misinterpreted
the wrong way. But after I’ve explained things the correct way everythings fine. Mouse needs to man up and do this.
Mouse’s mom will probably say something about this in the interview and embarrass him. Moms are good about this.
Ouch, here we go with another sticky situation caused by words.
Oh, will Mouse ever learn to think before he speaks?

Pete…. good advice on workin’ the books.
…and he wants to cut a lock of Randie’s hair and sniff it.

Dada… ha ha ha! Um… you-don’t-do-that… do you? No, no… your alter-ego super villain would though, eh? … Hypnausia.
firedome… things get jumbled all up and twisted around… like a Charlie Brown kite string, yah?
squid… Oh, yes… Mouse’s mom will certainly talk about the poopy diapers and crib escapes and sand box accidents… no doubt.
