We were the same as Trev; gave up on the comics in the 90s. Being serious collectors as well as comic book store owners, we saw how the industry went as the years wore on. Going dark as they did, we now have incredible TV/Movie comic universes that cater mostly to teens and adults. But the price is that the comics that were once made for kids have all but abandoned them.
@Pete: TV and movies could have done fine in my opinion, without gutting the heart and soul from comics. It’s sad that adventure and actual decent heroes are now second stringers, in my opinion. Seeing the Avengers on a movie wasn’t worth the cost to me. Also, props to you owning a comic store! Wish more people had back in the day.
Comics really went screwball some time ago, getting all HARDCORE!!!!! and stuff. There’s a reason I gave up on them in the 90’s.
Kringle the Barbarian? Well, like Conan, Santa does hang out in a frozen land in the north. If it’s not Cimmeria it’s pretty darn close.
