Chocolates
The cheap-o heart boxes of chocolate are just about the most grossest candy there is (next to candy corn, that is)! All you get are those yucky cremes. But I love caramels… and now I only like dark chocolate… so a four dollar box of chocolate is a total waste! It’s those See’s candies or the mega more-expensive assortments that I dig… I guess that makes me kind of a chocolate snob.
Chocolates as tools of self-punishment? And here I thought they were supposed to take the downtrodden to a happier, warmer, comfort-y-er place.
Four bucks? They’ll be two bucks the day after Valentine’s. Still, sad that Randie bought them for herself and that they may be all she can likely afford.
Well, cheaper than cigarettes.
Comfort is one thing, but when this sort of thing happens… Doesn’t stop me eating the stuff, though π
I love both candy corn and cremes π (but you better believe they come from Sees!)
A chocolate Diva?
You love Whoppers and call yourself a chocolate snob?
I like the ones with the soft caramel. Cherries and creams don’t do it for me either. Coconut is good if it’s mixed with brown sugar. Ones with a sweet liqueur are my favs.
Fortunately for me, I’m blessed with a Belgium and Swiss side of the family. Even their basic chocolate box taste like nectar π
Now if I could find a boyfriend…
I’m pretty broad in my chocolaty affections, but the crown goes to a really good raspberry creme or a salt caramel dipped in cocolate and sprinkled with sea salt.
Mind you, those valentine heart Lindor’s with the liquid centers are pretty amazing too.
No shame in being a chocolate snob. (though personally, I’m okay with hazelnut and raspberry!) I sympathize with Randie, though, both because of her horrible chocolate situation…and her love life. xD
It’s 8 am… is it too early to start on the chocolate?
Astragali… good Lord! That’s almost as bad as having to give up coffee for health reasons! Don’t they have a pill or a shot or somethin’?
Kineko… Belgium AND Swiss? Whoa! that’s most fortunate! Halloween, Christmas, Easter and Valentines must be wonderful at family get togethers!
Dani… are there such things as chocolate covered candy corn? Not that I’d eat them… but you could try it out… chocolate dipping is really fun & easy… ( see the latest blog post … the link shows you how).
Stick… true! Cheaper than ciggies…
Dark chocolate PWNS milk chocolate in every way.
Brig: Well, the thing is, although it seems like it’s an allergic reaction (certainly feels like one), I’ve not had it tested, especially now I no longer have insurance. And for the same reasons, I don’t know if they have a remedy.
As it is, it doesn’t incapacitate me; it’s shortness of breath, rather than resembling a full-on asthma attack. Besides, it tastes too nice to give it up! (and if I can’t have booze, I’m having chocolate and Pepsi!)
I love the nuts. Chocolate over peanuts, almonds, hazels, macadamias, pecans and walnuts.
Dark is definitely better than milk and white (speaking only chocolate here, as I’m a white guy).
Other favorite chocolates not yet mentioned, rocky road ice cream, english toffee’s, swiss miss cocoa with mini marshmallows, dipped pretzels, pepperidge farm milano’s, girl scout samoa’s, frozen snickers, frozen yogurt (…with toppings) and frozen chocolate-(and nut)-covered bananas.
Brig: Funny how you had Randie continue to eat and finish her “affordable variety pack” rather than throw, or give, it away. Funny too on how she was linking bad centers to bad memories.
Joe, uwg, Brig: Thanks for getting me out of chocolate-covered squid-glich limbo.
PS: Do coconuts count as nuts? Well, they’re gooey white stuff is good with dark choc too.
Erk. For coconuts, I ment, “THEIR gooey white….”
Also, never tried them, but they sure sound good: Dark Chocolate Covered Bacon Strips!!
I cannot find fault with any of those chocolatey goodnesses, Stick… I dark-chocolate dipped pineapples and walnuts/raisins for this last first friday… and drizzled the dark stuff on rice-crispy treats (heart-shaped ones, of course). I should’ve done pretzels but didn’t think of it.
I don’t know if I would like DCC-bacon… but, heck, they put pork on donuts… so why not?
Uwg & Astragali… keep on eatin’ the chocolate goodness! Hives or not!
