Cheapo
You get whatcha pay for… yah? Don’t expect quality when it’s ridiculously cheap…. especially if the name of the brush company is Cheap-o.
And wouldn’t you just love to tell a customer that?!

So just look for, the Union Label, when you are buying…
Sorry.
Even given the choice, many people still think that items sold here, should work to the same standard as items that were made here at one time. Why is it so hard to find anything made in the U.S.A.? We are banning so many things that are made in China, that we may as well start making them here again. Just expect to pay more.
Got a little real life intrusion here…
One of the young ladies I know, is going to adopt a 4 month old baby. It is the child of her boyfriend’s cousin. They wish to change the name of the boy once he is adopted. She was looking for suggestions, but favored the letter “J”. Instead, I suggested “Issac”, someone else offered “James”. So, she is now going to suggest, “Issac James” to her boyfriend. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Maybe there should be a collaborative website for those cartoonists in (or formerly in) retail, where we get to draw comics with things we wish we could say to obnoxious customers… 😉
On the other hand, some customers (including myself) are victims of Sam Vimes’ Theory of Economic Injustice, as advanced in Terry Pratchett’s book, Men at Arms…
I work in retail as well, and I can’t tell you how many times a day I want to point things like that out to people. For one shining moment, Grace is my hero.
From the condition of the brush, I suspect the customer has not been prpperly cleaning it.
Ruby: yah… Grace scored a few points, eh?
Astragali: Former Retail-worker Website… yah… that’s a great idea! There should be a place we chronicle the madness (besides Squid Row). (And I love the word “earnt” … good Scrabble word).
Joe: Jinxie as in “Mr. Jinx” (of Pixie & Dixie fame)…. I want to name something Jinxie… someone get me a kitten!
I try to buy American when I can… (however I do drive an ol’ Toyota truck… because American cars…. well, let’s just say… Cheap-O parts). Anyhoo, it makes me sad to that nothing is made in the USA anymore. Not even Converse. Sigh. I hope the pendulum swings back soon!
Beetles Bane: I was taught the correct way to clean my brushes early into my artist career. Thanks Jim Saw at Palomar College. Truly, it’s a life skill.
…that, and Grace isn’t that bad lookin’ either (if you’re into the whole punk/evil lady thing…which I am)!
Now THAT oughta’ shock Randie!
*giggles* cheap-o paintbrushes. “What the bad artists buy when they want to blame their supplies!”
Hadn’t looked at it from that angle, Flo… Dang frabba, stupid cheap-o brush, mussed up my whole painting!
Dada… Randie ain’t shocked… she kinda gathered you were into “the dark side.” After all, YOU drew Hypnausia in that, ahem… “get-up.”
Given that I’m currently doing customer service work for the Postal Service … ugh, yeah. There’s so many times that I wish I could say, “Well, considering that of the two of us, I’m not the one who decided your father’s medication deserved the cheapest possible ground service” or other things to that effect …
Perhaps I’m just bitter.
