Ch-ch-ch-changes…
Maybe you’ve been in one of the neo-comic book stores lately… comic book places with “designed space” with bright shelving and lounge-y furniture, complete with kids area. No? They are becoming trendy… think less all male comic nerd hangout and more open-to-everyone, kid friendly places. They are happening in LA, Chicago, Portland (where I experienced Books With Pictures)… and so art imitates life. Marty, as we found out last week, has bought Backstreet Comics… and he’s making some changes.
Look out, Geeks… the little Geeks are coming.
You know what they say, nothing stays exclusive forever. Considering GOLF literally stands for Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden, the fact there’s a Ladies’ Golf Association should prove the point. I know it refers now to the game rather than the old clubs, but the origins are pretty funny to think about in the modern day! If it comes to small numbers of exclusive clients or large numbers of everyone, unless the exclusives are paying a lot of money it will change. And hey, that’s a good thing in my mind!
Kids in a comic book store!?! This way lies madness!!!! LMAO
Get ’em when they’re young…got ’em for life.
Trev… I had no idea. I have never enjoyed golf other than the miniature kind. Seemed more fun than just hitting a ball across a patch of grass. Meh.
Mike… Indeed!
RN… Yes, l got my first Batman comic when I was 5-ish. My dad brought it home from the grocery store for to entertain me on a camping trip. Good idea!
Not me. Read some but never sought ’em out—science fiction books, that’s what did it for me.
