Cat Sense
They just know.
Mouse has been good at the vet. She isn’t hissy or scratchy or mean. She puts up with the yuck and indignity of prodding and the shots and stuff like a trooper.

twinkie, on the other paw…
Reminds me of a line from a Louis L’Amour western. (Though I’m sure he wasn’t the first to use it.)
“Who gave you the black eye?”
“Nobody gave it to me. I earned it.”
Our dachshund doesn’t like going to the vet, either. Every single time the vet starts examining her, it scares the crap out of her. Literally.
Oh Cats know. They know it like a storm a brewin’. Getting a cat into a cat carrier should be an Olympic event.
All that time wasted chasing after Twinkie with the “cat scram-bler” in order to get rid of him, when all Randie needed to say was, “let’s go to the vet.”
Ha. Remember the commercial with the cat herders? A bunch of cowboys on horseback were wrangling cats. So funny.
Sound advice to Twinkie:If you don’t wanna go to the vet… don’t get in fights at cat bars.
Pete… dachshunds can be nasty! My Gram used to have one named “Cookie”… but the little*&&% would chew up your hands like a meat grinder!
Jack: I can see it now… the metal-winners on the stand are covered with bandages! THEY earned it!
stick: Yee ha, little felines!
I owned a dachshund for eighteen years, and while I wouldn’t describe him as ‘nasty’ (except for the presents he left…), he was kind of a little punk. He frequently picked fights with other animals that he had no intention of actually fighting through; all of these confrontations usually ended with him whining and hiding behind me.
He wouldn’t have fared much better against Twinkie.
As soon as my cats see that carrier come out, they know something’s up! And they know it’s about them and they know they’re going to some place where some weird white jacketed person is going to do uncomfortable things to them!
