Carol
Yah… with all that is going on with The Artbox, it’d be a bit awkward for Carol to come festivize.
Holiday fun fact: The Provencial areas of France have a food tradition of putting out 13 desserts on Christmas… including Calisson (which I had in Aix whilst there… sooo goood!) …and in Alsace, they make a fruitcakey thing… that’d be what Midge is enjoying there in panel one.
Carol definately wouldn’t want to bring the party down with her presence.
Just about all french food, ( with the exception of cornichons) is absolutely
amazing.
Squid… you don’t like the Cornichons? I think they’re nummy…. Judy, too. Harold… hmmm… no word.
AND a VERY Happy Birthday to Pete… (Angel of St. Thomas)… May it be awesome and full of non-apocolyptic-ness. Smiles!
Probably not the lamest excuse Mouse ever got from a woman.
Oooooooh….
Cornichons? Oh, pickles. Yeh, right. I can take ’em or leave ’em. Good on their own, okay in burgers, not preferred in sandwiches.
So is this an Artbox, Cafe St. Michel or a Midge and Mouse holiday party? If it’s the first, you’d think Carol would show, what with her picking up the tab on the “free” food.
Hmm, maybe Carol’s there in disguise.
Hey… maybe Midge can let slip about the Artbox closing!
Um… if it’s not too late that is…
hmmm…i could not in the least imagine midge as being the “death of the party”.
I should have explained, cornishons are small pickles about the size of a sweet pickle. The similarity ends there. While sweet pickles are made with a brine of cinnamon, clove, and sugar, cornichons are pickled with lots of onions and other non-sweet ingredients.
Dada… Ha! … uh, it’s sad but probably true.
stick… Well, I’m sure if Rat, Grace’s boyfriend, could get the night off, he woulda come, too. Midge always seems to be Mouse’s platonic date. Ryan… working, of course.
Pash… hee hee… slip, blurt…
Firedome… with a sickle.
Squid… love them! anything with clove and cinnamon and sugar… even pickled things!
