Caramel Apples
I loooooooove caramel! I have such fond memories of this time of year… and caramel apples! They are sticky and gooey and I love them. And this toon is inspired partly by that and also the silly Paula Deen caramel apple-making video on YouTube! Enjoy, ya’ll!
Brig, dear heart, I’m truly confused – what was it about that Paula Deen video that was silly?
FACT: Anything can be improved by adding bacon to it.
uwg: It may depend on the type of bacon! I added the Oscar Mayer Ready-to-Eat Bacon to Velveeta Shells & Cheese… “What could possibly go wrong?” thought I. “It’s cheese and bacon!”. Sadly, although the cheese and bacon tastes went very well together, there was an overwhelming saltiness which prevented a re-visit 🙁
Brig,
Don’t forget the Fruity Pebbles!
😀 I love Paula Deen. And caramel apples. Ergo, this was hilarious.
Fruity Pebbles… hadn’t thought of that! Actually, almost any sugary kid cereal will do!
Astragali… I smile at you… you have a lovely British-ness about you. Paula Deen ya’ll, our wonderful matron of heart-failure cooking… she’s such a southern loon (in a good way!). I absolutely love her “ya’ll this” and “ya’ll that”… I wouldn’t ever cook anything she offers (except maybe the caramel apples) but I think she’s just a hoot! I want to hug her. Megan, you know what I’m talkin’ about.
Ah, thanks for clearing that one up for me, Brig 🙂 I wasn’t sure if it was her “y’all”s, or the use of the pecans on caramel apples (I love pecans!).
I’m all for heart-failure cooking 😉
Paula Deen would take it a step further. Ever tried deep-fried caramel apples?
